What do you use to condition your lips?

Wednesday, September 29, 2010

Fall is officially here! For Canadians like myself.. Fall is a precursor to that lovely Winter is approaching.

My lips usually need some extra assistance in the Winter. They get chapped and icky :( Trust me it`s a good look.

Recently I got MAC Lip Conditioner(tube) and I loveee it! It has that MAC vanilla scent and it`s not greasy!
An emollient balm aimed at maxing-out repair by conditioning lips, locking in moisture. Contains Almond Oil, Shea Butter, Avocado Extract, Wheat Germ Oil, vitamins A and E. Formulated for high impact to use alone or under lipstick. Petroleum-based, but not goopy, helps seal in moisture to protect the lips from the environment.

This lip conditioner works even better when I exfoliate my lips nightly.

What is your favorite lip conditioner?

How much would you spend on foundation?

Monday, September 27, 2010

Personally would spend up to $60.00.
                     WHY?
Even though I wear foundation once or twice a month, I still need something that is a perfect match for me.
  • Not ashy
  • Doesn't break me out
  • Doesn't disintegrate.. Ive seen foundations do this.. eww
Some of my twitter friends think I`m crazy BUT I want to know how much you would spend!

MAC Lustrewhite Lipglass is perfect for all skin tones!

Friday, September 24, 2010

At the last MAC sale I stumbled upon MAC Lustrewhite Lipglass. In the bottle it looks intimating but  after swatching I fell in love!

As you can see from my lips its a clear gloss with minimal shimmer. Gorgeous.

Here is a close up of the gloss.
This Lipglass has the brush applicator! I usually just do one swipe to the top & bottom

The best part of this Lipglass is that it can be put over lipstick for some dimension.

Do you like this Lipglass?

Kim Kardashian inspired neutral eyes

Monday, September 20, 2010

I love neutral looks! Kim K wore this look to the Emmy's and I fell in love.. Yes I'm aware that we are not the same color or I'm no where as fly as her..but she's my muse.

Here is the look:

Lets break down the look:
  • Neutral skin tone eyeshadow
  • Black eyeliner
  • Inner corners highlighted
  • White eyeliner
  • Mascara on upper & Lower lashes
Okay as I said inspired neutral eyes..I wish you guys would have seen more of my bottom lashes :(
I used the MAC Holiday palette & MAC single shadow in Swiss Chocolate.

I like this look because it can be transformed into a day & night look. Who is your neutral eye muse?

How do you feel about Lash Serums? Plus my short review on L'oreal Lash Boosting Serum

Wednesday, September 15, 2010

Everyone wants long healthy lashes without the falsies. Now there is an easier way to do that. Hello...
Lash Serums
They give us the hope of thicker longer lashes with less fall out when we remove make up from our eyes. I`ve been blessed with healthy curly lashes but who doesn`t want a boost now and then. My problem is how in the world do I know which one to choose!

I was lucky that Joy over at Makeupjunkie had an extra L'oreal  Lash Boosting Serum and gave me one to try.

Directions: Apply daily under your mascara and at night to bare lashes to transform your natural lashes, and see more lashes in just 4 weeks !

The application is clumpy & sticky so I put it on my lashes before I go to bed.

So far I have been using it and my lashes are thicker at the base.. I`m impressed but I want to know what else is out there.

My question is what do you think about Lash Serums?
Are you happy with your lashes?

One on One with Jenn featuring Erica

Tuesday, September 14, 2010

Erica is a Canadian Beauty Blogger with a love for makeup and fashion!

Click Here to visit her blog!

When did you become a make-up junkie?
Erica: I deem my beginning as a makeup junkie to the time where I began watching youtube tutorials. I would say around... September 2008 when my interest in makeup suddenly grew! I was so intrigued by all the lovely colors and tutorials I saw on youtube, and I was soon inspired to begin writing a beauty blog. All of a sudden, I just wanted to go to the drugstore and look at all the pretty makeup! I guess everyone starts somewhere!

It always starts with youtube :) what inspired you about the colors? Did you feel like they were colors you could rock?
Erica: What inspired me the most was all about the rainbow eyes. I think it was a tutorial from julieg713, where she did a winter rainbow tutorial and I thought it was the coolest thing to be able to create such a multi-dimensional look on the eyes with so many different colors! My perspective back in the day was that eyeshadow was only one color. Guess not! I've always wanted to do a rainbow eye, and I felt like they would suit me so well, I kept trying to create a seamless look! I've recently succeeded! :)

How have you incorporated color in your make-up regime?
Erica: My favourite way of incorporating colors into my daily makeup routine is by adding a colored eyeliner, such as purple which also works as a neutral, without being too over the top. Some of my favourites are MAC's Macroviolet Fluidine, and Annabelle's Smudgeliner in Vortex Violet. As for full color shadows, doing FOTD's for my blog really helps! It encourages me to more colorful looks and be creative towards my makeup application. I love being a beauty blogger!

Mac and Annabelle are two of my favorite brands as well. What other brands do you find yourself into at the moment?
Erica: NARS and Benefit are slowly creeping it's way deep into my wallet, and it's certainly not happy! I find that the two brands both have some bad products (ahem Dr. Feelgood & Night Star?), but also possess some incredibly high quality products! NARS captivates me through their extremely buttery soft eyeshadows, pigmented blushes and sleek black packaging. Benefit's just so adorable and I absolutely LOVE their Erase Paste undereye concealer.

Haha! NARS and Benefit really do have some naughty names in their line! Speaking of concealer.. Why do you think it`s important to conceal those circles?
To me, concealer and mascara make the biggest difference in life to me! In the morning, I feel somewhat dead and tired, but as soon as I put on the two products, I can feel my face instantly waking up! The concealer just lifts up my eyes, and makes me look my age again since I think that dark circles can age anyone like crazy! It makes me feel happy and prepared for all the challenges of the day :)

Great advice! Now I know why you look so radiant in your FOTDS!
Last question what piece of advice do you have for ladies who are now getting into make-up?
Haha! Why thank you, but I'm oh-so-envious of your polished smokey eyes! As for advice, I would say.. invest in some nice brushes (very important) because they do the work for you, and make it unbelievedly easy to create a smooth and blended look. Also, I can't stress enough to wash your face every AM and PM! You must have a nice canvas for the makeup to go on in order to make it look nice :) also... find the perfect concealer and mascara for YOU! The two products together take less than 5 minutes to do, and can do the biggest difference if you didn't get any sleep the night before!

Aging Gracefully- Fab face of the day

Thursday, September 09, 2010

I love seeing celebrites who are 40 or (39) in Jada Pinkett Smith case  looking amazing!

Honestly she has NO evidence of plastic surgery or wrinkles. At 25 I could pass for 17/18, so I hope a face like this is in my future.

The key component which makes this look so fab is dark smokey eyeliner, nude lips & the gorgeous bronzed skin!

Also that outfit is fab..If I could walk in heel I'd steal those shoes!! LOL

Ladies are you feeling this look?

Accessorize 2 for 10.00 @ Ardene mini haul

Wednesday, September 08, 2010

This weekend while my mom was in Home Outfitters, I took a little detour to Ardene!

Ardene is Canada’s premier fashion accessory retailer, Ardene owns and operates over 400 stores throughout Canada.

They have a lot of "deals" in there. My favorites are the 5 for $10 & 2 for $10 deals which can range from rings to jogging pants! Yes $5.00 jogging pants, I recently picked up two for the gym :D

On my way out these two rings in the 2 for $10 section caught my eye. Once I paired them together I fell in love!!

I love the contrast against my skin tone. Plus I have a 15% VIP card which made my purchase under $10!!

Cover FX NEW EyePrep FX Anti-Age Smoothing Primer blogger party

Tuesday, September 07, 2010

I was invited to to another amazing Cover FX event for the unveiling of their NEW EyePrep FX Anti-Age Smoothing Primer this Fall!

EyePrep FX Anti-age Smoothing Primer - 20ml - $43 - instantly binds concealer and eye shadows to lids and eye area with Dermaveil Cool Technology,a propriety complex that immediately reduces the appearance of fine lines and creases a smooth base for make up.

The event was full of amazing bloggers, make-up artist & food. That's me & Jenny Frankel one of the co founders of CoverFX. I was surprised that she remembered me from the first event!

What I loved about this event was the interaction!

The event started out with an indepth description of the product from Jenny. Then an interactive demonstration from Melissa & Lee Graff(shown in this picture).

Some quick Background ... Melissa is Cover FX Marketing Co-ordinator & Social Media Queen. Lee Graff is the co-founder of Cover FX. She also remembered me from the last session. That made me smile :D

In the demonstration CoverFX EyePrep FX Anti-Age Smoothing Primer was placed on one side of Melissa hand. Then a metallic blush was placed over the primer and the other side without primer.
The spot with the primer was rich & pigment compared to the side without. That was impressive but what got me was when Melissa rubbed her hand over it.. the side with the primer did not budge!!

After the demonstration we all got to mingle!

I can't wait to use this as a eyeshadow primer. The consistency is light and it doesn't leave a white cast like most primers. An in depth review will be posted soon!

Don't forget the CoverFX International Treasure Hunt event in Canada,US & UK!
