Do you prefer a Matte or Dewy foundation finish?

I personally prefer a matte finish. My T-zone can get really oily at times so I feel like it's better to be maintain a matte look. Here I used MAC Prowear in NW45 with a combo of  Per-Fekt Beauty Decadent skin perfector. I combat oil with Kett Sett - No-Color Setting Powder & MAC Blot Film!

One of these days I plan on going "Dewy" ...maybe summer.
I think if I spray some Fix+ or Charge water on my face, it should do the trick.

Do you prefer a Matte or Dewy foundation finish? What foundation do you use?

  1. It all depends, I prefer Matte in fall/winter and Dewy for the spring/summer. Great question.

  2. I like a matte finish because I have oily skin. Putting anything dewy on my face will look crazy within a hour.

  3. I'm a mixture of both, depends on the time of year to be honest and the look I'm going for.

I'm currently using Max Factor Second Skin - Golden.

  4. I like a matte finish also because of my oily skin. I can sometimes pull of a dewy finish in the winter time.

  8. I can get 'dewy' all on my own too. ;)
I like my face to be matte. I use mineral makeup and got away from BE minerals because they would shine up on me very quickly. I use a Mattifier from Southern Magnolia Minerals and love it. I have a brush dispenser in my car for un-dewing myself too.

  12. My face is a little bit oily, but I do prefer dewy to matte. I'm not really sure why, though. I guess it's just one of those inexplicable preferences, haha.

  22. much much prefer matte.....I was so disappointed in HD makeup. I just can't wear it.

I want to try that setting powder you were talking about though. I am using UD de-slick setting spray and it's disappointing.
