Too Faced Little Black Book of Bronzers

Bronzer is a product I always forget about. After years of searching for the right shade and failing miserably (they’re generally too dark, too chalky, too sparkly for me), I gave up on using a bronzer in my makeup routine. That is, until I discovered the Too Faced Little Black Book of Bronzers – which allowed me to try out a multitude of formulas. This bronzing wardrobe houses eight mini-bronzers that will help complete your makeup look, whatever the occasion:

Milk Chocolate Soleil: This bronzer is light and subtle – perfect for pale skin tones like mine. I love using this bronzer during the day to add some warmth to my face.

Chocolate Soleil: A perfect every day shade, this matte bronzer creates an all-over deep tan.
Snow Bunny: This illuminator offers your skin a radiant glow. It’s shimmery, but doesn’t leave specks of glitter – making it appropriate for a day at the office.

Dark Chocolate Soleil: This bronzer, a deeper version of the milk chocolate and chocolate shades, is perfect for sculpting and contouring.

Pink Leopard: This trio of bronzing and highlighting powders give you an amazing all-over glow. This bronzer in particular is amazing for nighttime.

Beach Bunny: This bronzer combines four bronzing shades to give you a summery glow, regardless of the season.

Endless Summer: This particular bronzer is a great long-wearing product (Too Faced claims it lasts for up to 16 hours). This shade is perfect for contouring with a natural shade, or adding all-over warmth to the face.

Sun Bunny: This bronzer has pink undertones that mimic the effect of just visiting the beach!

Too Faced’s Little Black Book of Bronzer is currently on sale for $36.00 (regular $72.00) on TOO FACED.

Quo 2015 Holiday Collection: Get the Naked Look for Less

The nude makeup craze is everywhere – from eye shadows to lipsticks to the new contour craze. The good news is that you don’t need to fork out over $50.00 for the newest Naked Palette (okay, they’re still quite dreamy) – Quo has lots of great nude-themed products for less in their 2015 holiday collection!

The Quo Back to Basics Eye Shadow Palette in New Nudes offers twelve buttery eyeshadows that have a not-quite-matte, not-quite-shimmery effect. They’re perfect for putting together a daytime look for the office, or creating a truly enviable smokey eye for nighttime.

The Quo Contouring Craze Deluxe Contour Kit is super travel-friendly – it includes contour powder and highlighter in a heavy compact, as well as two travel-sized brushes (one angled contouring brush, one rounded highlighting brush). I love that the contour shades aren’t too dark (most palettes leave my pale skin looking muddy), are matte and super blendable for a natural look.

The Quo Back to Basics Eye Shadow Palette in New Nudes retails for $25.00 and is available at Shopper’s Drug Mart locations across Canada. The Quo Contouring Craze Deluxe Contour Kit retails for $30.00, also available at Shopper’s Drug Mart stores.

Worth the Splurge? Rodial Bee Venom Serum

I love serums - I think they are the unsung hero of beauty. My advice: Never splurge on a moisturizer or a cleanser, but do your research and invest in a quality serum that will treat all of your skin concerns.

I was excited to have the opportunity to try the super luxe Rodial Bee Venom Serum. This serum promises to minimize signs of aging, even your skin tone and smooth the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The plumping formula is composed of real bee venom serum (side note: if you are allergic to bees, this is likely not the serum for you), plant stem cells and Cyclopeptide-5. Rodial's trademarked MariMoist complex provides hydration for a radiant complexion.

This serum applies like liquid velvet - it is so supple and hydrating, without feeling heavy. It melts into the skin and you can apply moisturizer quickly after to seal in the serum. Since I started using this a few weeks ago, I've received so many compliments on how glowing my skin looked! You can really see results with this particular serum.

At $200 for 30 mL, this serum is a serious splurge. If you're looking for a high dose of radiance or have maturing skin, the investment is worth it.

Rodial Bee Venom Serum retails for $200 and is available at select Shoppers Drug Mart and Murale boutiques, as well as on

SLEEK MAKEUP The Gold Standard i-Lust Eyeshadow Palette eye look

It's been months since I have actually done a makeup look. I had a challenge with Fashion Magazine's Beauty Panel to create a holiday party look. I knew the eyes was an important piece to set the mood.. so I decided to try out the Sleek The Gold Stand I-Lust eyeshadow palette ($11.49 USA).

Let me start off by saying this is a BEAUTY. A true gem from their Limited Edition 24 Karat Gold Collection. This is totally the palette to have in your possession, if you're trying to get noticed this season. The Glitz and glamour of this six shade palette comes with four silky shimmer powders and two pigmented cream formulas.

I only used three colours and they popped on my skin tone. Amazing pigmentation and long-lasting! I used Margiela as my cream base on my lid, Then added Vera to set it. With some Laurent in the crease. Perfect sexy eyes to tie in my matte red lip.

Canadian Made: Froosh Handmade Body Treats!

It's important that I share beauty goodies from my love Toronto. So much is going on here- From buzzing talent, hot food places to awesome beauty brands. I was recently introduced to Froosh. Toronto based company, with an online store, which makes body treats. I don't know about you but even if I'm having an off day- I have to smell good.

On Froosh's website you can find 7 main categories.
  • Body Butter
  • Face Care
  • Foot Care
  • Hand Care
  • Lip Balm
  • Salt Soak
  • Scrubs
Here are my top three items that you NEED to try from the line.

They come in six scents:
  • Coconut Cream
  • Coconut Lime
  • French Vanilla
  • Green Tea
  • Japanese Cherry Blossom
  • Mango
Each Body Butter ($16.00 CAN) comes in a 250 ml with ingredients you can actually pronounce! Such as Sunflower Seed Oil, Natural Beeswax, Jojoba Oil.. etc. My first thought when applying them was moisturizing. After applying there is still a thin coating left on your hands. To me, that's a great thing for the Canadian winters. It's perfect for all over but concentrate on areas that don't usually get love like elbows & knees. Trust me.. they will thank you.

High five Manicure Set ($26 CAN)
This set contains:
  • Manicure scrub (125ml)
  • Overnight hand repair lotion stick
  • Cuticle oil
My hands are a MESS right now- so of course this would also be on my list. This set is awesome overall but if you have anything coming up like a networking event, date or wedding. Do this a week before to leading up to the date. It's a lifesaver! Start with the scrub and then rinse. After you rinse your hands they will already feel awesome. Follow up with the Overnight hand repair lotion stick. This is great on the crevices between your fingers. Or any rough spots that need some extra TLC. Then finish up with the solid cuticle oil.

Dead Sea Body Polishes ($21.00 CAN)

They come in 4 scents:
  • Dolce De Leche
  • Key Lime
  • Mandarin
  • Passion Fruit
Each comes in 500ml. I'm afraid of salt scrubs but these smell good! Sunflower oil is actually in all of them which is known for being moisturizing & anti-aging.  Awesome fact: Dead sea salt contains ten times more minerals than regular sea salt. They also come with a handy scoop.

Sephora Collection Gel Gloss Ultra Brilliant Ultra Shine Holographic Lip Gels

What better way is there to doll up for the holidays than with some serious shimmer?

These Sephora lip gels truly do have a 3D, holographic effect, and are the perfect gloss to complete your holiday party look.

They are bold enough to be worn on their own or could be layered over a lipstick (pink or red would look amazing with this) for a glam look. Best of all? They apply well (it has an amazing doe foot application) and they are not sticky. They're also limited edition - so grab them while you can!

From left: Pretty Princess (lavender and pastel pink shimmer), Good Fairy (peach and green shimmer), Fuchsia Mermaid (fuchsia and purple shimmer), Queen Bee (pink shimmer).

Sephora Collection Gel Gloss Ultra Brilliant Ultra Shine Holographic Lip Gels $18.00 CAD are available at Sephora stores across Canada.

My Philosophy Holiday 2015 Picks

I was extremely lucky to have the opportunity to attend Philosophy's Holiday preview back in October. Honestly, Philosophy has some great products that you need to get your hands on this holiday. I picked the three items that would make anyone feel gracious to have this season.

Philosophy has amazing shampoo, shower gel & bubble bath combos ($21.00 CAN).
The scents are rich, lather well and long-lasting. These are great picks but I would buy gallons of Christmas Cookie. Plus there is an awesome recipe on the bottle.
Layering is the best way to maximize your scents! If you like floral scents the Amazing Grace layering set ($59.00 CAN) is for you. It's a clean feminine scent that you need under your tree.
Comes with a fragrance, whipped body crème and shampoo, bath & shower gel.
Clear skin is in for 2016!
Philosophy Purity Made Simple Cleanse & Massage One-Touch Facialist Kit ($99.00 CAN) is your new best friend.
What's unique?
-The product can be added to the device!
- A silicone head.
-Multi-level function.
Which product are you excited to see under your tree?

Holiday Beauty: Under the Tree

I love this idea!
It's so fun and inexpensive.
I wish my husband would allow me to fill the whole tree with makeup.

Here are some cute options to get the most out of decorative beauty products:

Make them parting gifts
Who doesn't love Party favours that make you look beautiful.

Stocking stuffers
Move over socks and underwear!
These are cuter & look better in your stockings.

Secret Santa
They come pre-packed and ready to go.
