Festival Essentials

I'm so excited for this Summer. So many festivals and concerts coming in these upcoming months- my pockets are going to be drained. A good friend of mine asked me what should she be packing for her first festival next month- I decided to turn it into a blog post.

Why ask me?
Because I'm one of those girls who is almost prepared for everything.
Break a nail? I got a file/clippers!
Hands dry? I got hand cream!
Lash in your eye? I got a mirror and a few q-tips.
My purse is literally a store... and I'm proud of it.

Bandages
You do not have to bring the whole box but pack a few for you and your friends. You never know when you're going to get a blister from walking in those new pair of shoes or from the friction on your heels. I'm speaking from experience! Oh my gosh....this one time my cousin and I went to the beach and her bathing suit top kept on shifting! We used a Band-Aids to make sure that there were no nip slips.

Sunscreen
This is a given! If you left your house without this... please don't talk to me. I'm joking! I love the fact that these are travel size- Thank you Banana Boat! For reference, the spray is $3.49 CAN
and the "squeeze" is $6.99 CAN. I hate walking around with a full sized bottle... more than likely it will not fit in my purse and I'll end up leaving it somewhere. Sooo don't forget your minis!

Lip Balm
For me, I honestly have been living in liquid matte lipsticks for months! But let's be honest... they can get a little drying the longer you wear them. I find that applying a thin coat of EOS ($3.99 CAN) over my lips makes it comfortable and doesn't disrupt my lip colour.

Hydrating Spray
The sun is extremely drying. I think it is a good idea to carry a hydrating spray with you. My favourite is philosophy Renewed Hope In a Jar Microrenewal Hydrating Mist ($32.00 CAN) when you're feeling extremely parts just sprayed a few sprints and let it dry on its own it's packed with vitamins and super good for your skin

Temporary Tattoos
I actually probably should not have included this because you wouldn't really bring this with you but it's totally fun to play with before you go! You can apply them to your hands, your back, your neck or whatever area you want to drive attention to. I love these gold metallic tattoos from Sephora!

There are probably so many more things that I could have added but this these are some items that came to my head. If you have any that you think I should I added him, please be sure to let me know in the comment section.

Philosophy: The Micro Exfoliating Treatment Kit

When you think of chemical peels and microdermabrasion, a trip to the spa and a $300+ price tag often come to mind. Luckily, skincare brands are releasing at-home versions of your favourite spa treatments for a fraction of the cost. The best part? These treatments usually include multiple applications.

Over the years I’ve tried several chemical exfoliators, microdermabrasion and peel kits – scrubs, fruit-acid soaked pads, you name it. I’ve noticed results, but not enough results to justify the price tag (skin treatments generally cost significantly more than a cleanser or moisturizer).

Enter the Philosophy Microdelivery Dual Phase Peel – a two-step peel that sells for under $100. After one use, I was hooked. My skin felt smoother than it’s ever helped before, redness was gone and my skin glowed. This is a great product if you suffer from acne or acne scars, aging skin, hyperpigmentation or sun damage.

My Philosophy Holiday 2015 Picks

I was extremely lucky to have the opportunity to attend Philosophy's Holiday preview back in October. Honestly, Philosophy has some great products that you need to get your hands on this holiday. I picked the three items that would make anyone feel gracious to have this season.

Philosophy has amazing shampoo, shower gel & bubble bath combos ($21.00 CAN).
The scents are rich, lather well and long-lasting. These are great picks but I would buy gallons of Christmas Cookie. Plus there is an awesome recipe on the bottle.

Beauty News: Montagne Jeunesse, Victoria Secret & Philosophy

Montagne Jeunesse Glacial Clay Spa Masques

Last May, I had the opportunity to go to the Montagne Jeunesse Glacial Clay Spa Masques event hosted my FarleyCo. I've been a long time user of the masques and couldn't wait to hear about the new line:  Glacial Clay, Red Earth &  Dead Sea Mud Clay.

Glacial Clay
Glacial Clay, sourced from Canada’s Northwest Coast, cools, rehydrates and clears pores deep down to remove impurities. Sourced from the glacial heights of Scandinavia, nutrient-rich anti-oxidant Cloudberries is an anti-oxidant that soothes the skin and high in nutrients.
Red Earth Clay Spa
Prepare your skin for a truly incredible, fresh pulped and juiced, deep cleansing journey. Montagne Jeunesse has infused Mediterranean Clay with suitably spicy Cinnamon and pulped Pomegrantes to protect. This juicy boost will captivate your skin and senses.

Dead Sea Mud Clay Spa
Breathe life back into skin with intensely invigorating & revitalising Dead Sea Minerals. We’ve harvested the oceans nutrient rich Seaweed & Kelp right from the source - A satisfying boost for thirsty skin & then some!
These products are $2.49 CAN and all vegetarian friendly.

Fabulous by Victoria's Secret

I love floral scents for the summer because they are light and not over powering. One of the scents that I have in rotation at the moment is Fabulous by Victoria Secret ($65 USA).
Forever sexy. Forever Fabulous. Go glam in this thrilling blend of juicy currant, osmanthus blossom and pink freesia from our Victoria’s Secret Fabulous collection. Spray on eau de parfum for irresistibly fresh Fabulous scent that lingers.
Notes: Juicy currant, osmanthus blossom and pink freesia
Domestic

This fragrance is very feminine plus can also be purchased in a body cream and lotion.
Philosophy
total matteness

For the nights when it's hot but there is no sun out, you need a product to keep you matte. Total matteness from Philosophy ($40.00 CAN) would be one of my picks.
A serum designed to instantly refine the appearance of pores and improve the look of pores over time.
Tip: A little bit goes a long way. I made the mistake the first time to use a lot and once it dried it didn't "stay" on my face. I just washed my face and tried it again with least product. No problems!
Visibly reduce the size and appearance of pores with this powerful, mattifying serum. Lentil seed extract helps support the pore wall, making pores less apparent, while salicylic acid helps remove build-up of dead cells around the pore wall, brightening their darkened appearance. Natural bamboo extract helps absorb excess oil and control shine for a soft-touch finish.
This serum can be used as a primer. Use it on dry skin for the best results.
