Check out BeautySense.ca

I know I’ve been talking about Spring Cleaning A LOT. Especially when it comes to your make up/skin care/body essentials. When I did my search, I was so surprised to see how many products that I had opened and have now expired. PLUS how many products I have actually used up completely. Go me!

I was so lucky that BEAUTYSENSE.CA reached out to me and gave me the opportunity to shop on their site. Let me tell you that this is the site that you want bookmarked everywhere.
THEY HAVE EVERYTHING!

Signs That you Might Have Sensitive Skin

Let me tell you that sensitive skin is really common! If you find that you can’t figure out why you keep having skin issues no matter how many products or methods you try, your problem may be that you just have sensitive skin. If you can see a dermatologist or an esthetician- Do that ASAP.

But before you do that look for these signs.

Three Vegan Skincare Brands You Need to Try- Now in Canada

I have something to say- we are two weeks away from  Fall! Depressing- I know! The best thing you can do is to try your best to enjoy this time right now. I’m gonna try to sneak in a few more beach dates, the parks and maybe even dinner on the patio (if we’re all feeling confident enough to go). The time to shift your skincare/body care/cosmetics products!

Let's continue Vegan week with a few that I've put into rotation!

New from Arbonne Canada

For the next few days- I will be profiling vegan products on the blog.
Let's get started with one of my favourite brands: Arbonne!

I love their holistic approach to well-being, beauty and overall health.

How to Choose the Best Nude Lipstick for Dark Skin

Nowadays, the beauty industry has come a long way with its inclusivity. It’s gotten easier to find complexion products that fit a range of skin types, and dark skin tones are finally getting the attention it deserves. Finding nude lipstick for my dark skin tone used to be a STRUGGLE. The colours were always way too light and I would end up looking so dry and ashy. I’m talking powdered doughnut looking lips y’all....no ma’am, not cute at all. If you know what I’m talking about, then you have a wider variety of rich colour options available now that will compliment your complexion and make your lips look gorgeous. Follow this ONE tip for choosing the best nude lipstick for your beautiful skin tone!

Know your Undertone...that’s it!

Deep Conditioning for Natural Hair

I will admit. This is the first time I've been extremely interested in Deep Conditioners. I have a post about my natural hair coming up soon but let's say- it's been a REAL journey. Deep Conditioners are among the hottest thing right now. I truly didn't seem the gem in them until I did major research.

The Best Lip Care Routine For Dry and Cracked Lips

I’m just gonna put out a few self-care posts to occupy myself (and help others) while in Quarantine. Right now, you’re probably doing one of two things... Actually three.
  1. You are either taking AMAZING care of yourself so that when the ban is lifted-
you look fresh and ready to go.
  2. Or you look OKAY to go outside-
but you would love to book a beauty treatment when available.
  3. Or you look like a literal cave person-
you're literally ready to camp out at your salon, spa or lash tech house to be the first in line.
One of the first things I noticed that started to go haywire was my lips. Inside my house is SUPER dry and it's literally taking a toll on my lips. At first I ignored it but when my husband started to comment... LOL. I knew I had to do something other than blame the Canadian weather!

So to get my kissable, I do a combination of three things.

CATRICE Cosmetics has launched in Canada

This is my first time trying Catrice Cosmetics!
I seen them in Shopper's Drug Mart earlier this year but totally had no time to explore.

Who is Catrice Cosmetics?
A luxury-inspired makeup brand with VERY affordable prices.
They launched in Canada in March. Hasn't even been a year in Canada yet!
I love that there are a lot of 5 star reviewed products on website.

2020 Skincare Predictions and Trends

There were so many skincare wins in 2019.
I’m talking about popular skin care products that would take literally weeks to get back in stock in-store or online. Last year, my love of skincare GREW. There is still so much to learn about when it comes to choosing product!

I think we are going to take even a bigger shift towards taking better care of our skin in 2020.

Why?

I feel like with the age of social media and filters you have to maintain the same skin that you shared online in real life. Also consumers are starting to get more conscious. They want to know everything that is in the product/going on their skin. It’s totally fair to ask- especially with the disease and problems that people are plagued with.

Here are some trends according to (nobody but me) which I think will be really popular in 2020.

3 Tips for Stress-Free Last-Minute Holiday Shopping

Just like 90% of the population, I am so unprepared for Christmas. On my plate- first time mom, business owner, wife. Can I add WORK again?!? I totally have not decorated at all.
I'm low-key nervous to do so with Ava lol..

I'm still going to try to keep things festive.
Here are three tips from a procrastinator (me) to get through the holidays.

Gift Guide: Quo Holiday Collection 2019

Let’s get a started on this holiday content!
Over the past few weeks, I have had the opportunity to receive some of the most gorgeous beauty products to my doorstep. Totally made me fall in love with beauty again.

One of the first beauty brands, I ever spent my money on was Quo.
There are soooo many gems in the line: From their brushes to their lip glosses.
Every year they kill it with their holiday collections.
Here are 5 items that you need to put in your stocking from Quo this year!

Double Cleansing: Do you need Micellar water?

I wasn’t always a micellar water fan. Back in the day I’d use it but hated how I still felt a light waxy film on my face from it. Or how much it burned my eyes!!
Well several formulations later...It’s a important part of my double cleanse routine.

My routine has changed but a lot of the products I wear now are long-lasting and smudge-proof. Cleanser and water doesn’t always get it all off in one shot.

Even when I’m exhausted... I don’t skip steps because at this age I can’t risk pimples.

Here are some Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water products -
I was recently gifted to take my make up removal techniques to the next level.

Hair Care Giveaway: MATRIX + shu uemura - USA and Canadian

Last year, my hair was in it's best condition!
It was strong, long, healthy and so full of body.
Why?
Those prenatal pills that I took did wonders. After the baby, I maintained a good amount of hair but I did notice that I did have some fall out. Which I'm trying to grow back on my own. I was gifted with some hair care products to try out this winter.

What I'm most excited for:
The shu uemura art of hair Ultimate Reset Collection

Postpartum acne is REAL!

I’m not sure how this post will be received but I know there will be one person out there who would/will identify. Let’s talk skin! One thing that isn’t spoken about enough is... Postpartum acne.
I didn’t even know it was a thing until I researched it.

Maybelline Super Stay 24H Foundation + SWATCHES

A few questions:
- How do you feel about all these new foundations that are now coming out for darker woman of colour?
 - Do you feel like it’s too late?
- Do you feel like this is the perfect time?

For me, I’m just happy to be included. I know that sounds super corny but I’m happy that I can branch out try other brands and also help you save a bit of money in the process.

*********

This is such a overdue post. I started writing it with three foundations but stopped. Mostly because I got my hands on a fourth Maybelline foundation. Which you know always changes everything! If you’re looking for a drugstore option try Maybelline Superstay Full Coverage foundation ($14.99 CAN).

Five things that I wish I knew about Lash extensions

I know I'm totally getting annoying talking about my lash extension experience.... But I really miss them! Currently.. saving money is the goal. So things will have to be sacrificed. There is a lot that I wish I knew before I became so addicted.
