ColourPop No Filter Concealer – Deep Dark Swatches

It's very rare that I give in to makeup hypes. But when I heard that Colourpop was jumping into the colour cosmetics world and launching concealers... I had to get them. Plus I heard that they had a few colours for darker woman of colour. It was a no-brainer. I had to try it out!

Wearable Pinks for Dark Skin Women + My Favourite Combo at Moment

If you follow me on Twitter: JENNMUA. You know that I speak a lot about wearable soft pinks for dark skin women. Apparently it's hard to find *insert the eye roll emoji*. A true unicorn. Let me start off by saying, it shouldn’t be. Some of us just want a nice pink which is NOT a porn star pink. You know exactly what I’m talking about!!! I'll spare you the imagery.

I know I’m a couple days late for #nationallipstickday but I thought it be great to speak about this combo that I came up with! I love it but I totally wish I could find this all in one bottle/tube. Either way it will due for now.

Why you Should Wash your Brushes + Real Techniques Deep Cleansing Palette & Gel

I once had a friend who told me that she didn't know that you were supposed to clean your make up brushes. Guys.. for three years! She had the same brushes...Mind you she was using those cheap synthetic two dollar packs.... But still! The whole concept took me out. I nicely told her to throw out what she has and start fresh.

For some of you guys who don't see a problem.
Here are three issues that you can get with dirty brushes:
-Staph infections(Yes.. google it)
-Clogged pores (Pimples all over)
-Pink eye (You get the idea...)

Every time you hop on Instagram or Twitter you always see somebody complaining about how much they hate washing their brushes. I'm in the same boat... I hate washing my brushes! And I'm going to tell you the truth I have enough brushes that I can go without washing brushes for a while. I know that's not the reality for everyone... so I'm gonna show you the easiest way to clean your brushes right now.

Yes there are DIY methods. But if you're lazy and on the go like me :) Here is the quickest and easiest way to clean your brushes and make sure that you're free of infection and bacteria.

Lise Watier Cosmetics: Rouge Intense Suprême SWATCHES

I'm always talking about how I need to highlight some more Canadian companies.
Especially ones who are doing amazing things!
Honestly have been sitting on these pretty lipsticks for a while….but it's time that you experience the greatness that is Lise Watier Cosmetics: Rouge Intense Suprême ($27 CAN).

New Real Techniques Sponges that you need in your makeup stash!

I know that you have read about my love/hate relationship with makeup sponges. My stance hasn't changed- I'm still #teammakeupsponges. I love finding new shapes and ways to use them. I have been posting these new Real Techniques sponges on my Spicedbeautyblog instagram account and I have been getting a lot of questions and request to post them on the blog!

Currently Obsessed: Nivea’s Creme Care Facial Cleansing Wipes

I don’t think I will ever not be obsessed with makeup wipes. They’re convenient and easy to use. Although I have so many makeup-removing methods to choose from melting cleansers to soaked cotton squares…nothing does the trick like wipes.

Caryl Baker Visage Holiday 2016 True North Lipstick- Notre Dame

The holidays are here!
For the past two weeks, I have seen some Holiday collections come out that I am super excited to play with! Today I'm going to highlight an amazing lipstick from Caryl Baker Visage Holiday 2016.

This holiday they have a collection called True North Beauty. While there were a lot of items to love with in the collection- once I opened this lipstick.... I was so excited to swatch it.

NEED: CoverGirl TruBlend Primer

I won't lie to you, I gave up on drugstore primers a few years ago. I can't even tell you the amount of brands that I've used and they have never compared to the ones that I get from Sephora.
They have all left me super oily and really disappointed.

I was sent CoverGirl TruBlend Primer ($12.00 CAN) and literally I didn't pay that much attention to it. I was packing overnight bag a few weeks ago and then I realized that I couldn't find my usual primers. I was honestly freaking OUT! Since I knew where CoverGirl one was, I took it with me not really thinking that it was going to do much.
I was surprised.

Fall: Quo Brush Set

Fall make up is EVERYTHING TO ME!!!! Absolutely one of my favourite times in the MUA world hands-down. Give me a vampy lips- eggplant smoky eye and a gold highlight and I'm good.

I have actually been playing with a lot of Fall products from the beginning of summer. Perks of getting being a blogger and getting things sent a few items in advance. I had a few cute items from Quo show up on my doorstep but my favourite was the brush set.

Quo Brush Set Brush Up! ($50.00 CAN)

Get ready for Fall with Live Clean Body Washes!

I love beauty products but I'm obsessed with body care items.
I was EXTREMELY excited when a few Live Clean products ($4.99- $6.99 CAN)
showed up at my door.

I won't lie - I've never used the Live Clean body washes before. So it was a delight to try them out.
I received: Coconut Milk Moisturizing Body Wash, Exotic Nectar Argan Oil Replenishing Body Wash and Fresh Water Moisturizing Body Wash.

Four must have Ole Henriksen products from Sephora

I'm late on the Ole Henriksen train. I'd always see the brand in Sephora but I wasn't sure if it was for me. After having my first Ole Henriksen facial, seeing the Ole glow and meeting Ole in-person: I'm a believer. He told me I was cute and had great skin. He also give me a few personal skin recommendations plus talked about our love of Naomi Campbell!  I've pretty much tried the whole line. I picked four items that are a MUST haves.... If was trapped on a island these products would HAVE to come with me.

Add Palmers Skin Therapy Cleansing Oil to your daily routine

These liquid lip colours have crazy staying power now a days.
The removal can be crazy: Super long and annoying!
(If you don't have the right products)

Right now, My favourite thing to use for removal is Palmers Skin Therapy Cleansing Oil- Face ($7.99 CAN).

Currently Obsessed: Mary Kay Beauty Blotters® Oil-Absorbing Tissues

I'm the queen of looking like an oil slick during summer. It's annoying but that's what happens to me when I wear spf on my face. There is one product that I literally can't live without during these times: Oil blotters!

Right now, my go to's are the Mary Kay Beauty Blotters® Oil-Absorbing Tissues ($8.50 CAN).

Cake Beauty: Desserted Island Brown Sugar Scrub

I've just come back from my second vacation of the year. My skin is literally perfect right now. I know jet setting is not the easiest and affordable thing to do. But there are easy ways to fake it. I have been playing around with some fun Cake Beauty items like the Delectable by Cake Beauty Everything Balm but so far I'm in love with the Desserted Island Brown Sugar Scrub($32.00 CAN).

A mix of brown sugar, cocoa butter & wholesome oils- into a lovely scrub.

Dead skin is what prevents you from looking your best. Once it accumulates, you look dull and uneven. Exfoliating can fix this by regenerating new skin to shine through.

I love this scrub.
It gains major points from me for being made in Canada.
Plus it's:
*Cruelty-free
*Vegan
*Gluten-free
*GMO-free
*Paraben-free
*Phthalate-free

The brown sugar crystals are not rough on the skin.
After my showers, I always feel moisturized.

The best place to use it *in my opinion*:
  • Under Arms
  • Elbows
  • Knees
  • Legs after shaving

I basically just take a scoop up with my hands and apply it to wet skin in circular motions. I heard you can also do it on dry skin too but I haven't tried that yet.

I keep it out of water for at least a minute and then I rinse off. Once I get out of the shower and pat dry my skin with a towel. They recommend using it twice weekly for best results.

L'Oréal Infallible Pro-Matte Glosses- SWATCHES

The popularity of matte lipsticks aren't going anywhere any time soon. One complain that I hear a lot is how "drying' they are. My recommendation would be the L'Oréal Infallible Pro-Matte Glosses ($13.99 CAN).

Doe foot applicator perfect for sculpting your lips.

These highly pigmented matte glosses have a velvety texture when applied.
They're also long-lasting. Perfect to wear all night!

I received four colours but I swatched the two colours that would flatter my skin tone the best.
**Note: If these are too glossy for you- take a tissue- blot and you have a matte lip without the shine**

Which colour is your favourite?

NUDESTIX Intense Matte Lip + Cheek Pencils- Royal & Belle

Matte lip products are my FAVOURITE trend. When I was asked if I wanted to try the NUDESTIX Intense Matte Lip + Cheek Pencils in Royal & Belle ($28.00 CAN), it was a YES. I love Nudestix.
I love everything the brand stands for and how it caters to all skin tones.

Rimmel London Magnif'Eyes Mono Eyeshadow Swatches

I've been playing with these for months!
I couldn't wait to wait to post these on the blog.
Rimmel London Magnif'Eyes Mono Eyeshadows ($5.99 CAN)
I'm really impressed with the pigmentation of these drug store eyeshadows!
The formula is extremely smooth and blendable.

These new shadows come in three finishes: glitter, matte and shimmer.
SWATCHES:
I should also add that these babies are waterproof & crease-proof!

Go out and get them now!!!

Perfect Your Skin with the Perfect All-In-One Compact by Mistura Beauty

I hadn’t heard of Mistura Beauty, however, when I discovered that the company was both based in Canada and offered an assortment of all-in-one makeup, I was excited to try some of their products.

My favourite product of the bunch was the 6-in-1 Beauty Solution® Compact. The powder is hypoallergenic and fragrance-free, and promises to mute both rosacea and other blemishes.

You’d apply this like you would a contouring powder – on the outside of your cheeks, on the forehead, down the bridge of your nose. It took a little bit of trial and error for me as the first time I used it, I applied what I normally would when using blush and it was far too dark for me. The best thing to remember is that a little goes a long way – you’ll notice results with just a light dusting of the powder across your whole face.

I saw best results when I used the Mistura Retractable Brush (pictured above) – which along with the compact is perfect for tossing in a purse of carry-on. To complete the look, conceal with the Mistura C-2-P Complexion Corrector and naturally plump your lips with the Mistura Plump & Glow lip gloss.

To find Mistura Beauty retailers near you, use their handy store locator.
