Flare Trends Shopping Event at Markville Shopping Centre

It's been a while since I've been to Markville Shopping Centre but I'm happy I went. It's gorgeous! They recently did a $111 million dollar revitalization! Yes $111 million dollar facelift! Markville Shopping Centre introduces new designer brand retailers and all over luxury.
With over 250,000 square feet of commercial space re-merchandized with high-end brand-names, Markville has welcomed Zara, Zara Kids, J. Crew, Michael Kors, Coach, Loft, Aritzia, Express, Sephora, Little Burgundy and Browns, with Victoria's Secret and PINK opening soon.
To celebrate the re-launch of the new Markville, the Centre partnered with one of my favourite Canadian Magazines Flare. Tomorrow- Saturday, September 28, shoppers are welcome to attend the Flare Trends Shopping Event!

What is it?

There will be makeovers & exclusive in-store offers.

Where:

World MasterCard Fashion Week: KORHANI home Carpet Couture Runway Show

It's that time again!
World MasterCard Fashion Week.

Toronto is buzzing with new trends, amazing shows and fresh faces!

I had the opportunity to attend the KORHANI home Carpet Couture Runway Show.
I was completely blown away with the precise tailoring and unique designs. I had to keep reminding myself that they`re wearing Carpet during the whole show!

Check out some of the shots I captured!
The first one is my favourite because it's creepy and invokes emotion.

Can you believe that this is carpet?

World MasterCard Fashion Week: Holt Renfrew, Pink Tartan & Pavoni

World MasterCard Fashion Week kicked off to a great start. Designers from day 1 were Holt Renfrew, Pink Tartan & Pavoni. I was able to go backstage and get the scoop from Grace Lee, lead makeup artist Maybelline New York Canada and Jorge Jao, Redken's Lead Artist on the looks/inspiration for the show.

Holt Renfrew
Holt Renfrew decided to do something different this time around. They decided to make their collection based on what is available this season! Basically you could shop what you want off the runway. The look is wearable for everyday. Nothing over the top or overly glam. Grace Lee calls it "The Holt Renfrew it girl" look.

Cascatablu Fashion Show

Cheryl Gushue premièred her resort 2013 collection of Cascata Blu last Saturday during TIFF. The line features simple yet versatile designs that fit all body types in a wealth of textured, art-inspired prints. I was on hand with my photographer to check out backstage beauty & watch the show. What is Cascata Blu you ask? It's Italian for blue waterfall.

I loved the runaway look. It was a neutral face with a edgy cat eye & a bold lip. The hair was wavy and definitely gave that beach vibe. Check out the elusive shots that I got backstage:
I have to highlight the hair. The team from Kevin Murphy Hair worked it out!
They used their famous Mermaid Kit on the models.
It was the first time I've ever seen the wave clip in action.
I need these in my life!
The WAVE.CLIP is a multipurpose tool that smoothes frizz and flyways on naturally curly hair, enhancing waves to make them smoother. This clip can create smooth waves on straight hair by adding movement without frizz or flyaway’s.

Nail aesthetician Rita Remark re-created nail art to match the graphic fabrics.
The show started out with a local graffiti artist painting the model live on a stage.
I know you can't tell but it says Cascata Blu on her bathing suit.
The Cascata Blu resort 2013 collection has two different themes, Graffiti City and White Sands. They represent the balance between the urban cultures of a bustling metropolis versus the serenity of traveling to faraway destinations.

David Dixon World MasterCard Fashion Week 2012

This last post concludes my Toronto Fashion Week coverage.
The highlight of my experience was sitting front row for David Dixon. Yes... FRONT ROW.
I was close enough to touch the models. Best experience ever.

Thankfully, I had my DSLR to take exclusive front row pictures. David Dixon's line channeled the famous Alfred Hitchcock movie "The Birds". Being a Broadcasting graduate I have analysed the film from top to bottom. It was great seeing the inspiration come to life.

Before I share my pictures,
I want to share the beauty look from Maybelline.
