Guest Post: ECOTOOLS Polishing Cleansing Cloths

I cannot emphasize enough how important it is to thoroughly cleanse your face every night whether you are a heavy makeup wearer or not. I typically double cleanse. First, I remove my makeup with a makeup wipes followed by a cleansing balm/oil and then a regular cleanser using just my hands.

Regular thorough cleansing:
  • Is essential to keeping your skin looking radiant and healthy.
  • Helps your treatments (serums, oils, etc) to work properly
  • Helps maintain proper pore size
  • Encourages proper skin hydration and prevents the production of excess oils
While makeup wipes have been my tried and true tool for removing that first layer oil makeup, oil, dirt of the day, cost wise they can add up and they can be wasteful for the environment - especially when you are using more than one wipe every night (like I do) to get the job done.

Enter my discovery of ECOTOOLS Polishing Cleansing Cloths.

Gentle Skin Care for Sensitive Skin: Ecotools & Simple

I go through periods of time when my skin is very sensitive.
I'm always looking for options during that time to prevent my skin
from looking dull during those times.

I think I found a winning combination!

Ecotools Pure Complexion Facial Sponge- Sensitive skin ($11.99 CAN) and Simple Vitamin Foaming Cleanser($7.97 - $10.99 CAN).

I've been using the Simple Vitamin Foaming Cleanser for months but I find it much more effective a with facial sponge!

I had no experience with a facial sponge that looked like this before. To be honest, it look like a pumice stone. I avoided using it for a while because I thought it would scratch my skin. After doing some research on Google about Konjac sponges I decided to give it a try.
The new unique Pure Complexion Facial Sponge is handmade with 100 percent natural ingredients, including Konjac* vegetable fiber, for a better clean that reveals smooth, refreshed skin. It is dermatologist tested for use both morning and night to wash away dirt, oil and makeup, leaving skin glowing without over-drying or causing redness.
I was surprised how it fills up with water so quickly. Plus it's very soft and gentle skin. Definitely not the idea I got when I took it out of the package. Overall, I liked the "clean" I got when I used it with my foaming cleanser.

The only thing that I really thought was odd was when it dried. It didn't dry looking how it was when I received it. I know that's such a small minor detail(which may not bother others) but either way when you add water back to it, it "fluffs" back out.

For anyone who's interested in this Simple skin care vitamin cleanser- it's really good! You get the perfect amount via a pump every time. My skin never feels dry or tight after using it. Plus it's full of the good vitamins our skin needs!
Our special blend of Simple cleansing and moisturising goodness containing Pro-Vitamin B5, Vitamin E, Glycerin, Chamomile and Geranium, helps to keep your skin moisturised, refreshed and cleansed.

Spiced Beauty: June 2011 favorites

I totally struggle with putting out my monthly favorites. I apologize but I`ll try to put out one a month for the rest of the year!

Before I go on to my eight favorites... Let me start off by explaining my how my June was.

VERY stressful...unfortunately, I didn't have time to indulge in a lot of beauty products.

This July I will try to switch it up! So be sure to look out for that.

  1. Dove go fresh Body Mist in Nectarine and White Ginger scent-Perfect for anyone on the go. I can spray this like four times and it wont be overpowering.
  2. Korres Deluxe Size Body Butter in Fig- I use to refuse anything with figs in it.. Bad childhood memories..haha. The Shea butter and Figs makes my hands feel AMAZING!
  3. EOS lipbalm in Lemon- Huge thank you to Fabdiva20 she sent me a lovely package which included this lipbalm. I'm truly obsessed with how soft it makes my lips!
  4. Annabelle 4SHOW Eyeshadow in Tiger-Eye- All of these colors are perfect for my skin-tone. Click the picture for a HD close up.
  5. Diane Lai REJUVENATE- This was one of the first moisturizers which has not irritated my skin after prolonged use. If you have sensitive skin you will know how hard it is to find product that!
  6. H&M Organic Lipgloss- It was a $1.00 on sale! Amazing for low maintenance days because it`s long lasting.
  7. Vasanti Eye Wonder Cream- I currently don't have dark circles, wrinkles or puffiness. But dark eye circles run in my family, so I`m trying my best to prevent it before it occurs.
  8. Ecotools Powder Brush- Its amazingly soft, so why wouldn't it be a fav :)
