How to Prep your Lips for Matte Lipstick

I’m tired of hearing people say that matte or "drier" lipsticks are not for them. I personally think that there is consistency out there that would work for everyone. Whether it be a liquid lipstick or something that applies satin right out of the tube. Trust me... you can make it work.

New HARD CANDY COSMETICS Collection

I know Fall is coming.... and frankly I don't want to speak about it. Let me stay in "Summer".
For the first time in a while, I got my hands on some Hard Candy products. Some are hits and some are misses. I picked the four that would catch your eye if you were in-store.

Polysporin At-Home Spa Party

Lip health is important in the summer as it is in the winter. One of my biggest pet peeves is chapped lips.

Seventy-seven per cent of Canadians feel an emotional impact if they have chapped lips.

When there are amazing products out there like Polysporin’s Visible Lip Health out there, No one.. I repeat no one should have chapped lips.

I was given the opportunity for my mom and I to be treated to an at-home spa experience.  Totally what I needed after a stressful day at work!

If you remember my review of Polysporin’s Visible Lip Health- Day & Night line last year, I was a huge fan.
We were given lovely treats to get the night started!

After stuffing our face with chocolates. We were given a spa treatment which was an amazing facial + Massage by the Wright Spa Mobile Beauty Services! After the facial she give us a lip scrub then applied Polysporin’s Visible Lip Health- Day to our lips.

Then it was followed by a full make-up consultation of the latest lip colour trends.

Each product is $5.99 and can be found at Walmart!

What is your favorite spring/summer lip color?

I'm so excited to break out my spring/summer colors!
Last year I fell in love with MAC Romancin'. Perfect blue based lipstick for my skin tone.

L'Oreal Le Balm in Rose Elixir review

I know some of you ladies have seen this balm in your favorite drugstore and debated whether or not to get it. I won't lie it stayed in my bag for a while unused. Tinted lipbalm has never been my thing because of my pigment lips.

One day after leaving my makeup bag at home I tried this balm and I've been hooked ever since!

I'm going to break down this review into three important sections: Packaging, Consistency & Pigmentation.

Packaging:
I like the sleek packing for each balm. One of the pros is that it doesn't look like kiddy lipbalm! I also like how each cap is the same color of the balm in the tube.

Consistency:
The formula is extremely moisturizing. It last hours on me with little application throughout the day. It can be worn alone or underneath lipstick.
Even after removal my lips still feel soft.

Pigmentation:
Since it's a tinted lip balm I didn't expect much but I love the soft hint of pink it gave me. The application is sheer and soft!

There are seven other shades to choose from the Le Balm line.
Pink Satin, Rose Elixir, Tender Mauve, Heavenly Berry, Plush Plum, Caring Coral, Nourishing Nude & Caramel Comfort.

I absolutely love this balm and I hope to try more colors?

Revlon ColorBurst™+ ColorStay Lipsticks Haul+Swatches

On my latest excusions to the USA, my bf and I went to a Big Lots near the border. Perfect place to stock up on snacks for the long ride and check out discounted makeup :P

While searching through the makeup section I found a whole bunch of Revlon ColorBurst™+ ColorStay Lipsticks with NO price on them. Luckily for me there was just men working in the store *happy dance*. Due to sheer laziness and lack of knowlegde they gave me all six lipsticks for $1.00 each!!!

That's a steal because there about $8.00 to $14.00 each in Canada.
I only picked up one initially but when I seen the price.. I went back and picked up five more!
I only swatched four and I plan to gift the rest :D

Lip Swatches!
I have enough nude lipsticks to last me a year!!
Have you tried any of the ColorBurst or ColorStay lipsticks before?

Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm: Hibiscus

I've noticed that some of my followers are really into all natural products. So...let me introduce you to Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Hibiscus.

I will admit.. I've never used any Burt's Bees lip products or a tinted lip balm before. I've stayed away from tinted lip balms because of horrible color selections!! Most are wayyy to pale for my skintone.

For the first time I have selection!! Burt's Bee offers six different shades – Hibiscus, Honeysuckle, Tiger Lily, Pink Blossom, Red Dahlia and Rose.
Our new tinted balms give you a hint of color with a soft, sweet flavor and natural ingredients that moisturize and condition your lips.
If your into quick fixes you should look into a tinted lip balm.
While I'm at work I keep this baby right by my desk.

Revlon Creme Glosses review + Swatches

In my city there is a Revlon Sale almost every week at the flea market. Since I haven't really bought any makeup this year I decided to treat myself to a few goodies. After swatching for what seems like forever I found theses babies on my way out!

What first caught my eye was the pigmentation. I prayed when I swatched it that it wouldn't be sheer and washed out.. They weren't!
The next-generation in lip gloss with both full-coverage color and extreme gloss shine. Collagen complex and light reflecting particles give lips a fuller appearance. Vitamin E and collagen condition for ultra-soft lips. Unique flow-through brush offers smooth, even application.
My girls on twitter told me that these glosses sell for $11.00+ at CVS. I just want to let you all know I got them for 4 for $10.00.

Pros:
  • Pigmented
  • Affordable (in my case)
  • Several colors to choose from
Cons:
  • You need to click slowly
OVERALL:
I would purchase again because of the price and pigmentation. In Canada it's very hard to get good quality makeup for under $3.00.
