Maybelline Super Stay 24H Foundation + SWATCHES

A few questions:
- How do you feel about all these new foundations that are now coming out for darker woman of colour?
 - Do you feel like it’s too late?
- Do you feel like this is the perfect time?

For me, I’m just happy to be included. I know that sounds super corny but I’m happy that I can branch out try other brands and also help you save a bit of money in the process.

*********

This is such a overdue post. I started writing it with three foundations but stopped. Mostly because I got my hands on a fourth Maybelline foundation. Which you know always changes everything! If you’re looking for a drugstore option try Maybelline Superstay Full Coverage foundation ($14.99 CAN).

Maybelline: Jourdan Dunn- Met Ball 2015

I really like Jourdan Dunn!

“Jourdan's makeup look was created to reflect the gold and mauve tones of her

Maybelline Master Kajal Eyeliners Swatches

What do you look for in an eyeliner?
For me, I need a brand that is:
  • Waterproof
  • Pigmented
  • Doesn't smudge
I found that with Maybelline Master Kajal Eyeliners ($11.99 CAN)!
Cone tip applicator and cream stick formula with intense kohl pigments provide a bold smoldering line.

Tip: With Kajal's it's important use them sideways while rotating.
NEVER on the tip because the tip can not be sharpened.

As you can tell from the swatches the colour you see is what you get.
These are really pigmented and suitable for all skin tones.

Maybelline Color Sensational- The Buffs: Untainted Spice

I love a good nude lipstick. As a woman of colour, it's always hard to find the right shade. Sometimes the colour is ashy or way too light. It's a never ending battle.

I was so excited when the Color Sensational® The Buffs - Lip Color By Maybelline collection ($9.99 CDN) showed up at my doorstep. One thing to know about Maybelline lipsticks: Always pigmented, creamy and long-lasting.

Depending on your skin tone there are 10 colours in the line to choose from. The colour I am showcasing is called untainted spice. It's the second darkest colour in the line.

Colours in the line:
Bare All
Truffle Tease
Blushing Beige
Nude Lust
Maple Kiss
Stormy Sahara
Untainted Spice
Espresso Exposed

Tip: If you are trying to warm up the colour. I would suggest getting a lip pencil that is a little bit darker than your skin tone- feathering it on your lips and then applying lipstick in the middle with a lip brush.

If you see these beauties in your drugstore- I suggest you
swatch them and find your closest match!

New Years Eve with Maybelline

I can't believe how quick 2013 went by!
I know that there will be a lot of parties to attend to ring in the New Year.
I compiled my top products from Maybelline which should be in your makeup bag.

Baby Lips® Dr. Rescue™

Chapped lips are not appealing. Doesn't matter what lipstick you're going to wear! We all know how obsessed I am with baby lips. Have you tried out the Baby Lips® Dr. Rescue™line? It's has a hint of eucalyptus which is great for any lip issues that you may have. You can wear it under lip colour or as a prep for your favourite lip colour.

Fit Me® Shine-Free Foundation

It's always good to bring your foundation with you. The Maybelline Fit Me® Shine-Free Foundation is the perfect size to fit into your purse. My skin tone works with the darkest shade in the line 355 (coconut). It's oil-free and applies matte.

Color Elixir™ by Color Sensational®

I'm a believer in having various lip colours in your purse. I often wear two to three colours a day. If I want something light but pigmented Maybelline Color Elixir™ by Color Sensational® is one of my daily picks. I can't explain the formula but it's light and not sticky like other lip glosses. One swipe is all you need :)

SuperStay 14HR Lipstick™

I've tried a lot of products in 2013 but Maybelline SuperStay 14HR Lipsticks™are in my top five favourites. This lipstick is one of my best kept secrets. When they say long lasting- They mean it! No budge at all. The most creamy, rich and pigment lipstick that I have ever found at a drugstore.

Maybelline Volum’Express The Colossal Cat Eyes Mascara (Guest Post)

Maybelline Volum’Express The Colossal Cat eyes claims, “Colossal lashes go fully feline in one stroke”. Lush collagen formula and claw brush fill out lashes up to 8x the volume with fabulous cat-like corners, instantly. It’s wild.

The mascara is available in a washable and waterproof formula and is available in one colour Glam Black.

I tried the washable formula and I have to say that it has some great staying power. I find certain mascaras will flake or transfer on my oily eyelids but this mascara didn’t do any of those things. The curved brush was something I wasn’t used to at first but after a few days of use I got the hang of it and it really does give the cat like effect that it claims.

This mascara logically should create a ton of volume, as it’s apart of the Volum’Express line. I will say it creates volume as for 8x the volume I’m not sure I buy that and while we are on the topic where do cosmetic companies come up with the whole amount of volume they claim? Just double the volume is enough. I guess I could some how measure my lashes before and then after but I think we all know I won’t be doing that.

I’ve tried the regular Colossal mascara before and I would say it gives more volume that the Cat Eyes edition. I will say that the Cat Eyes edition gives a bit of volume more so I found it to be a lengthening mascara.

I really enjoyed using the Maybelline Volum’Express The Colossal Cat Eyes mascara. If you happen to be a person who has unruly eyelashes that decided to go every which way and a normal mascara brush just cant accommodate how much your eyelashes are here to party (think about Elaine from Seinfeld dancing) I would say you are really going to enjoy this mascara the curve of the brush is going to hit every lash no matter which direction its pointing in.

Maybelline is pretty universal in where its sold so you should be able to get this mascara at a drugstore or the high street.
