My next few posts are REALLY going to have a self-care theme. Mostly because I've been severally lacking. I know.. I know! I totally need to do better but with daylight saving time here. I see more opportunity to do better.... Starting with my nails!

Thankfully I have the Sally Hansen Beautifier Collection by

It's summer and pastels are now in swing again!

Just in time for Mother's Day Sally Hansen has come out with Mother’s Day Salon Gel Polish collection ($14.95 CAN). Which is available for a limited time exclusively at Shoppers Drug Mart.

If your mom is similar to mine- A lady who always has her nails done, this is the perfect Mother's Day gift! She can save money and still look fabulous.

The colour is step number two.
To complete the whole process you need:
  • LED Lamp

  • Gel Top Coat
  • Nail Cleanser Pads

The colours from left to right:
Laven-Darling -lilac purple
For Teal -vibrant turquoise

Just Peachy -glistening coral,

I tried the gel polishes and I was very impressed.

Check out other colours on sale:

They apply smoothly (no streaking) and the colour exactly what you see inside the bottle.

I'm wearing Laven-Darling!
Which I might add looking amazing on my skin tone.

Love or Hate: Sally Hansen Fuzzy Coat Textured Nail Colour

New nail textures are hitting the market.
Some are unique- while others are just plain bizarre.
Sally Hansen has just released one of their newest polishes called
Fuzzy Coat Textured Nail Colour ($7.95 CDN).
Peach Fuzz
Transform your manicure with Sally Hansen’s newest nail innovation: Fuzzy Coat Textured Nail Colour. Taking inspiration from the strong textural themes at the latest runway shows, Sally Hansen has developed a new, exclusive special effect formula that makes nails the focal point of any look. Blurred, woven and marbled fiber looks resembling hand-spun yarn are combined in a multidimensional network of colour to create a matte finish with a fibered texture effect.
I've never seen anything like it before!
I'm still debating my stance.
I do love how it looks over clear polish but it's so odd!

How do you feel?
Love or Hate?

Stiletto Nails- Hot or Not?

Have you seen them on your favourite celebrities such as Rihanna, Adele, Lady Gaga or Beyonce?
Rihanna Source: Google
I have a love/hate relationship with them.
They're very unique but kinda scary. Definitely not corporate office friendly (in my opinion).
Imagine the stares I would get if I was conducting a presentation with those bad boys. Oh man!
Since I'm about to cut my nails off, so I decided to play around with the trend a bit.

I should have taken pictures of my process but it was sooooo basic.
All I did was take a nail file and file the edges of my nails until they came to a point.
I know I didn't get the claw look but you get the point(pun intended).

Are Stiletto Nails- Hot or Not?

Sally Hansen: Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips Review

One of  my favorite nail inventions is definitely nail polish strips. They come in various colors, styles and finishes. I have tried various brands and hands down Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips has been the best so far.
The styles above are from the Sally Hansen's Collaboration with Canadian Singer-Songwriter Avril  Lavigne.

803 Purr-fect Harmony
Avril Lavigne has partnered with the brand and created 12 new limited edition designs of the revolutionary Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips. These distinct rocker-chic patterns representative of Avril’s personality.

If you aren't very creative with free-hand nail art, this is the quickest option to get the style you want.
Each pack comes with two packs of nail polish strips, mini nail buffer, cuticle stick and instructions.

Check out these styles up-close:

It's evident once you peel off the plastic backing.

Use nail polish remover to remove the strips.

Suggested price is $9.95 CDN.

Overall
Since I'm obsessed with studs, Stud-io Time was my favorite print. The fine details made it look 3D. It looked like I put little silver studs all over my nails. It was definitely a conversation starter.

The number one thing I would suggest is to have patience with these strips. Apply them as close as you can to your cuticle without getting it on your skin.

This picture was taken on day 4. As you can see there is no lifting or discoloration of the strips. Each strip is carefully crafted and I think the long lasting factor due to each strip being thin.

I've tried another brand that was thicker and by day 2 it either lifted or fell off. In other words it was a waste of money.

Overall I am excited I'm very pleased with these strips and excited to try other styles.
