Gift Guide: The Body Shop picks under $50

The Body Shop is one place that I always make a quick stop to whenever I’m in the mall. I love to go in-store and smell/test plus restock my body butters/shower gels. I was really excited this year when they sent over an amazing box of products for me to test (just in time for the holidays). It’s been a while since I’ve opened up a box and literally fell in love with EVERYTHING inside.

Quick and Easy Mom Last Minute Gift Guide

As a new mom, when you ask me "What I want for Christmas?" my answer will always be... "Don’t buy me anything! Just get gifts for the baby." Honesty, It’s more important that she’s good. I can always come second or even third. If you have someone in your life who is like me- it might be hard to find a gift for them that would work into their lifestyle. I am sharing three items that will be perfect for any new mom.

HAIR
I got rid of all of my flat irons. Either they were too old or didn't heat up quick enough. Back when I was pregnant I was gifted with a Conair Infiniti pro 3Q styling tool ($109.99 CAN). I seen it at Bed Bath & Beyond. I'm happy to stay that it has totally satisfied my hair needs. I'm currently protective styling with extensions because of the holidays.

Love: Fuji Green Tea™ Body Butter

One thing about The Body Shop is that they always come up with the best scent combination.
At first, when you hear them- you wonder.. How in the world is that going to smell?
But! It always works out. I recently tried Fuji Green Tea™ Body Butter ($20.00 CAN).

We all know about the benefits of green tea. I honestly live by it!
This product is no different. Just for your skin.

Smooth on replenishing hydration, while detoxing body and soul with the crisp and refreshing scent of Fuji Green Tea™ Body Butter.

This is actually their first collection which is infused with green tea leaves from Mount Fuji.

Top 5 reasons you need to get your hands on this body butter:

  • Not greasy
  • Very hydrating
  • Infused with green tea
  • Perfect for all skin types
  • Contains Community Fair Trade Shea Butter from Ghana
The best tip I got from a Body Shop employee was to apply this butter right after you come out of the shower for maximum absorption.

The Body Shop: Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter

I might not wear a lot of makeup but mascara is a must for me. I should add... my mascara usually does not come off easily because it's layered. I use 3 to 4 coats to get my desired look... Don't Judge me..haha.

With that being said, I'm always interested in trying out new products which are going to make my life easier before I go to bed. Sometime last year, I got my hands on a tin of this product: Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter ($16.00 CAN). It's honestly amazing! It's really nice to get a product that is soft and gentle but still does the job. This is my second tin!

Shop The Body Shop: Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter

This cleanser is an indulgent make-up remover for the whole face. It gently and efficiently melts away make-up and impurities, leaving skin feeling clean, refreshed and pampered.

How to Apply:
With a dry face massage the product into skin. Then rinse it off with warm water or use a wet muslin cloth to cleanse & exfoliate.

I applied waterproof/smudge-proof products and let it set.
Then applied the cleansing butter and worked it in.

This product leaves your skin feeling clean, has a pleasant light scent and melts away your makeup.
What more could you need??

The Body Shop Sells Sorbet?!?!?

I love when new products/innovations come out. Especially if it's a texture that you have never felt/seen before. It was literally love at first sight when I received this Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet ($20.00 CAN) from The Body Shop.

An instant cooling sensation for all day hydration. This silky-soft moisturiser hydrates and refreshes skin with an ultra-light light formula.
It's so light and soft but very hydrating. Actually- The Body Shop has also come out with line body sorbets which come in your favourite scents.  That's a whole other story but the next time that you are in the body shop please treat yourself and I'll test out every single one. You will fall in love!

Early-Harvest Raspberry for the Summer from The Body Shop!

Have you even seen a product and you just had to have it. I mean you don't now it works/smells or performs but you needed it? That's how I felt when The Body Shop put out a tweet with an image of their new Raspberry Collection. One thing about The Body shop is that their scents NEVER disappoint. They never smell artificial! Which is really hard to do for some companies.

I'm so happy to say this collection is everything I thought it would be.
It smells AMAZING!

This body scrub looks like jam! It contains raspberry extract and smells amazing.
I will admit it can get a little messy- so be cautious in the shower

This lotion is pretty hydrating. I love using it as a hand lotion after I wash my hands.

This is a very rich and pungent body butter.
The texture is amazing and it's made with Community Fair Trade shea butter.

The Body Shop Fall 2013: Honeymania, Colour Crush & Camomile Make-up Removal Collection

Yes you seen the f-word in the title. F-A-L-L! Yes I said it. It's coming and we need to talk about it.
In my opinion fall has the most gorgeous colour palettes and inspiration.

I had the opportunity to attend an amazing Body Shop event back in June.
It was the first time in a while that I've "ohhh" and "aweee" over products.

Let's start off with Honeymania! I love honey.
Grew up with it and I would never get tired of it.
Trust me everything smells as good as it looks!

Honeymania features for rich community fair trade honey that comes from the Ethiopian rainforest.
The line has everything you need such as lip balm, bar soap, bubble bath melt, shower gel, eau de toilette, body scrub and butter. (In-stores Oct 7, 2013)

I should add the soap is the lowest price point starting at $4.00 dollars
and the highest is the body butter at $20.00.

This August is all about color!
The new colour crush collection has 30 Mono eyeshadows to choose from. One of my favorite things about the shadow was the pigmentation and the staying power. These eyeshadows are blend of community fair trade Brazil nut oil, marula oil, honey, organic virgin coconut oil and sesame seed oil. Everything is 100% cruelty free. Each shadow cost $10.

I could not leave the lipstick table. The new colour crush lipstick collection is something that you should definitely get your hands on. 24 vivid colors that range from the brightest reds to beautiful nudes and the sweetest pinks. Each lipstick is affordable at the price of $13.
Look at the pigmentation!!

One product that should be on every beauty blogger list this August is the new camomile make-up removal collection. I fell in love with the cleansing butter ($16) &Muslin Cloth ($8.50).

The Body Shop: Lip Glosses and Eau de Toilettes

New goodies are out at The Body Shop!
They're colourful and smell so yummy!

I'm a huge fan of body butters so I'm extremely excited that I can now spritz on my fave scent.

Simply spritz on your pulse points for a targeted burst of light and wearable scent($14 each).

Eight fragrances:
  • Strawberry
  • Moringa
  • Coconut
  • Mango
  • Shea
  • Satsuma
  • Pink Grapefruit
  • Vanilla

Satsuma is my favourite scent right now! Smells like a zingy sweet orange.
Before I go to work I spray it on my shirt and I swear eight hours after I still smell it.

There are 11 super-glossy, mouth-watering shades to choose from, each with a succulent fruity flavour to lift your mood.

Your lips are left moisturized smooth and kissably soft thanks to our new formula enriched with vitamins E and B5 and Community Fair Trade organic virgin coconut oil. Perfect for a dewy spring look!  ($10 each)

I love having a gloss that smells true to it's scent.
As you can see above some of the glosses have a slight shimmer and some are just a gloss.

Take Care of your Skin + My Recommendations

Less than 6 weeks until the first day of Spring! I`m so excited. I have so many cute outfits that I can`t wait to wear. Looking outside is so depressing for a Summer baby like me. My skin hates the winter. It`s so hard to keep hydration. Thankfully, I have many products/tips to make my skin happy.
  • Water is your best friend! Drink a lot to keep your skin hydrated.
  • Take your showers in lukewarm water. If you're brave try cold water! Did you know that hot water can dry out your skin of its natural oils.
  • Best time to hydrate your skin is after the shower when your skin is damp. The product absorbs quickly.
  • Don't forget to exfoliate! It's not just your face that needs the TLC. It`s best way to remove dead skin.
  • Petroleum Jelly is your friend. It's the quickest way to moisturize problem places like elbows and knees.
Some of my current favourite products:

 Vaseline Total Moisture Collection
Pure exracts + multi-layer moisture complex in Strays-3TM infuse moisture at the top, core and deep down surface layers, for healthy-looking skin that’s soft but never greasy. This everyday lotion absorbs quickly and penetrates deeply, which both feels good on skin and does good for your skin.
 Satsuma Body Butter
This rich and creamy Body Butter is a feast for the skin. It melts straight in to leave skin feeling soft and smooth. It contains Community Fair Trade shea butter and smells of fresh satsuma. 24-hour hydration Great for normal to dry skin Fresh satsuma scent.

 Aveeno Baby Daily Lotion

Contains natural colloidal oatmeal blended with rich emollients to soothe and heal your baby's delicate, dry skin.
Scrub 'em and Leave 'em

With babassu oil, sea salt and moisturising jojoba and mandarin oils. Scented with our Mist You Madly™ fragrance.
