Three Vegan Skincare Brands You Need to Try- Now in Canada

I have something to say- we are two weeks away from  Fall! Depressing- I know! The best thing you can do is to try your best to enjoy this time right now. I’m gonna try to sneak in a few more beach dates, the parks and maybe even dinner on the patio (if we’re all feeling confident enough to go). The time to shift your skincare/body care/cosmetics products!

Let's continue Vegan week with a few that I've put into rotation!

I know that during this quarantine we have all been guilty of buying to much of something. Mine was bananas and thank God for banana bread! Just incase you have some extra fruit in your fridge- check this out!

you can find in your fridge:

Trying out Aleva Naturals

Have you heard of Aleva Naturals?
I’m no stranger to the brand. I actually received a massive box of their wipes from my BabiesRUs registry. It honestly helped me get through the first two months of life with baby Ava. A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to try out a few other products from the line.

The line is ideal for moms like me who don't want to use any products which might be an allergen on their children. From the very beginning I knew that I only wanted to use mostly Vegan brands on Ava.

Aleva Naturals is...
  • Vegan
  • Hypoallergenic
  • Paraben Free
  • Phenoxyethanol Free
  • Toxin Free
  • Harsh Chemicals Free

Go Green for Earth Day!

Happy Earth Day ladies!
Did you know it's one the most celebrated environmental event worldwide?

We all have to do our part to sustain the environment. I remember when I use to hear the words like vegan and organic and I thought that meant boring! That's totally not the case now a days. These products have come a long way. You might not even notice but some of the products that you use daily may be fit into one of these categories!

Check out some "green" products that I've tried and are adding to my wish list.

SpaRitual polishes ($12.75 CAN)
Vegan polish brand dedicated to the spa tradition. Vegan ingredients from around the world are used to create this high quality line. This includes organic plant essences and naturally colored formulations free of synthetic dyes.
You would never have known these polishes were vegan. I've tried them in the past and loved the pigmentaton and overall quality of the polishes. Plus they always come out with cool collections that would rival any other brand.

EOS Smooth Sphere Lip Balm in Honeysuckle Honeydew ($3.50 CAN)
Delight your lips with the irresistible flavor of fresh honeydew and with moisture that keeps your lips feeling soft and smooth all day long.
I love the way these balms feel on the lips. Plus they are small enough to fit into your make up bag.

Matrix Biolage (Various prices I have seen are around $26.00 CAN)
One of the star ranges from Biolage is Matrix Biolage Delicate Care, a powerful fade-fighting range that is gentle, sulfate-free, and helps prolong hair's colour vibrancy. Free of silicones, parabens and mineral oil, this fade-fighting formula has a fair-trade complex of acai berry and conditioning argan oil, as well as a UV filter that leaves hair manageable.
I've switched all my shampoos to sulphate-free last year. My scalp is in a much better condition after doing so. This product is on my wish list!

Weleda Skin Food ($21.00 CAN)
Intensely hydrates and cares for the skin. Ultra-moisturizing, pure Lanolin and anti-blemish, organic Pansy nourishes and soothes dry and damaged skin. A precious essential oil blend of lavender, rosemary and sweet orange oil refresh the skin and the senses.
I'm obsessed with anything that involves lavender! Another product on my wish list!

Lush Green FUN mouldable soap ($6.95 for 250g)*
A citrus burst of tangy lime and lemon essential oils that will make you feel refreshed and focused. FUN is a solid, 4-in-1 multi-purpose, mouldable soap-- for your body, hair, bubble bath and fun.
Another great vegan product that I was excited to try out. This is the perfect bar to bring on vacay because it has various uses. For sensitive skin users it has a softening base of corn flour, talc and glycerine. You have got to love a product that you can pronounce all the ingredients!

Vegan/Cruelty-Free Products: Kiss My Face

Target is finally in Canada!

For beauty lovers like me, they bring a lot of products to Canada that we don't have access to.
They also carry cruelty-free brands such as Kiss my face!
Kiss My Face all-natural body care company is no newcomer to the recent explosion of green product marketers. The brainchild of two long-time vegetarians searching for healthy body care products, Kiss My Face was founded on a 200-acre organic farm in the early 1980's. The latest scientific research combined with the most effective ingredients nature has to offer leaves no room in Kiss My Face products for artificial colors, unnecessary chemical additives, animal ingredients or animal testing. From moisturizers to liquid soaps, shower gels to toothpastes, shaves to deodorants, Kiss My Face has products that are effective and cruelty-free!

I know that some of my readers live a vegan/cruelty-free lifestyle. So products from Kiss My Face would be perfect for you. If I were to describe the products in one word it would be Gentle.

From left to right:

So Refined (Jojoba & Mint Facial Scrub) $15.00 CAN
Exfoliate and polish the skin's appearance with natural and organic ingredients. This non-drying, natural humectant gently exfoliates and purifies skin by removing dirt with organic jojoba beads and other natural and organic herbs and plant oils. Helps skin look visibly younger and refreshed.
I personally would call this product more of a cleanser than a scrub because the beads are really small. I prefer larger particles in my scrubs.

Eye Witness (Eye Repair Creme) $19.00 CAN
Reduce the appearance of fine lines, dark circles and puffiness with potent natural and organic ingredients. Smooth the appearance of wrinkles and moisturize the delicate skin around your eyes. Natural and organic oils and butters leave skin looking hydrated and rejuvenated.
The eye cream was pretty lightweight. Since I don't any issues with my under eye area, I don't reach for eye creams as much as I should. It's probably better to start now to prevent any problems later.

Clean For A Day (Creamy Face Cleanser) $19.00 CAN
Cleanse, hydrate and remove makeup with our natural botanical cleanser. This soap-free, non-drying formula uses natural cleansing agents from sugar and corn to remove dirt and debris. Rich in natural and certified organic ingredients, the soothing scent of vanilla and tangerine will heighten your senses.
Out of the three products, my favourite would be the Creamy face cleanser. Since it's a soap free product, I found it quite hydrating. Plus it had a pleasant scent.

Their products are also:
  • Biodegradable
  • Gluten-Free
  • Paraben-Free
  • SLS-Free
  • Pthalate-Free
  • Vegan Friendly
  • No Animal testing
  • No Artificial fragrances

Have you tried Kiss My Face products before?
