Do you prefer palettes or single shadows?

Personally I'm torn.. I love the idea of palettes. Everything in one concrete area! Eg. Daytime..Nighttime. But what I hate is that I never use them...unless I'm going on vacation or to a shoot.

I find myself using more single shadows because its easier to pin point what I want. Eg. MAC swiss chocolate & NYX red bean pie is an amazing combo, so I lug those around with me in my makeup bag.

So my question for you is palettes or single shadows?

New Years: Glitter Nails for only $5.00!

I have become such a nail junkie lately.. I think it`s because I follow several nail blogs. They`re sooo inspirational because they always give me ideas on what to do with high & low end polishes. Also some of them give out dupe information. I love the fact that I can get a Chanel dupe at H&M for a fraction of the cost.. makes me happy!

While shopping at Walmart.. which is a lovely place to get your polish fix :) I came across this gorgeous Sally Hanson Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear Nail Color. In these pictures I layered the glitter over H&M Grey Sky.

This color is called Strobe Light
Strobe light is the best name for this polish because the glitter gives off different colors when the light hits it. I had to take a fuzzy picture (no macro) for you to see how gorgeous it is! Definitely worth the $2.49 price tag.

I got several comments on these nails, so if you try this combo beware because it is a conversation starter....haha.

So there you have it my New Years 2011 nails. Including the H&M polish, they both cost me only $5.00... Also it saves me a trip to the nail salon :)

I will be sharing my New Years dress, hair style, make up, drinks(yum) & festivities with you all this year! So stay tuned :D

Would you wear this nail combo?

Beautyticket.com Haul

I recently won a $50 giftcard from beautyticket.com's twitter giveaway. Since Christmas is around the corner, I decided to spend it all on myself. I was sooo careful to spend exactly enough to not have to pay for shipping....haha. Here is what I got:

I got three China Glaze nailpolishes:
(L to R)
Trophy Wife, Thunderbird & Bad Kitty

I had to get these because they were only $2.79!!

Paula Dorf eye primer in "Deep". I will always be a UDPP girl but sometimes you want something new! I have not tried it out yet but once I do a review will be done :)
The last item is something I have been contemplating for a while! I do have very curly long lashes but I always want more...LOL. I know falses is the easiest way to achieve that but unfortunately I cant apply them on myself.

Sooo I decided to get Lashem growth serum. I was first introduced to this product at the National Women's Show. They had a booth and the employee's there had lashes to die for..men & women.

I will be updating you all on my progress!

Have you tried any of these products before?

Get Barry M into Canada!

I follow several UK blogs and I always envy the BarryM hauls, swatches & FOTDS! I heard from a VERY creditable source that BarryM may be coming to Canada *scream*

That means Canadian girls can be swimming in a pigmented sea of Dazzle Dusts, Nail Paints & Lip Lacquer Crayons!

To make this happen, please join the Get Barry M into Canada group on facebook by clicking LIKE and posting a comment if you have previously tried Barry M make up or have heard about it and would want to see it in Canada.

So my Canadian girls did you like the page yet? Have you tried any BarryM products? If so what is your fav!

FOTD: Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Blue Eyes

I know I'm not a blue eyed babe but I love the colors in Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips for Blue Eyes palettes. I find myself using this palette far more than any of the other Physicians Formula eye palettes. To really make brown eyes pop, dark blues work the best in my opinion. Check out the swatches of the blue & gold on my skin. Pure love <3
Instead of using the blue on my upper lid, I opted for it on my lower lid as a liner!
Excuse my unamused look on my face..LOL

Eyes:
Blend of Golds & Bronze in the palette.
Mascara:
Annabelle Volumelash.com
Liner:
Eve Pearl Smudgeproof  Liquid Liner
Lips:
Annabelle Volume Lip Plumping Gloss in Cherryoke

Here is a close up of the eye.  As you can see below my bangs are growing out quickly! They were always pretty long but now you can hardly see my makeup..all my hard work!! LOL

I'm going to get them cut to above my lashes this week. So I'll have a pic update to show you soon :)

Have you tried any of these palettes? If so, what do you think of them?

Does Purely Cosmetics Diamond Powder stand up to the test?

I won this product from Enkore at IMATS. I follow Purely Cosmetics on twitter but I have not had the opportunity to try out the products. One of the most popular items from Purely Cosmetics is their Diamond Powder. It is often compared to MUFE HD powder at a fraction of the cost.
Diamond Perfect Finish is a unique product made with real diamonds and a patented diamond complex to create a flawless finish. Your face will have an airbrushed look. With nearly a carat of diamonds in each full sized jar, Diamond Perfect Finish works perfectly for photography and high definition, and is superior in performance to products such as Makeup Forever's High Definition Finishing Powder.
As a WOC, I really have to watch out for powders that will make me ashy.
Scratch that..
Actually this can happen to anyone.
Exhibit A:

First I have applied my favorite HD foundation on the top of my hand

Then I dabbed the powder on my hand.
I did it heavily, so you all can see the finish of the powder.
I used my Sigma F80 to buff in the powder.
This picture is the determining factor to see if it gives me an white cast :|
