Does Purely Cosmetics Diamond Powder stand up to the test?

I won this product from Enkore at IMATS. I follow Purely Cosmetics on twitter but I have not had the opportunity to try out the products. One of the most popular items from Purely Cosmetics is their Diamond Powder. It is often compared to MUFE HD powder at a fraction of the cost.
Diamond Perfect Finish is a unique product made with real diamonds and a patented diamond complex to create a flawless finish. Your face will have an airbrushed look. With nearly a carat of diamonds in each full sized jar, Diamond Perfect Finish works perfectly for photography and high definition, and is superior in performance to products such as Makeup Forever's High Definition Finishing Powder.
As a WOC, I really have to watch out for powders that will make me ashy.
Scratch that..
Actually this can happen to anyone.
Exhibit A:

First I have applied my favorite HD foundation on the top of my hand

Then I dabbed the powder on my hand.
I did it heavily, so you all can see the finish of the powder.
I used my Sigma F80 to buff in the powder.
This picture is the determining factor to see if it gives me an white cast :|

YES!! Success :) This product will definitely be added to my kit.

Question:
Do you stay away from white powders?

  1. I def stay away from white powders, especially after trying some mineral powder foundation which gave me a gray-ish cast - it was horrific! That incident made me skeptical of white powders too.

  2. I don't really use white powder, translucent yes but my fave was discontinued Chanel (this was years ago).

  3. That is so awesome! Congratulations!
I use MAC Transparent powder. LOVE IT! I always let it sit for a lil bit & follow up w/ a finishing spray. @ the moment, I'm loving MUFE Mist & Fix. Ben Nye Banana Powder is on my Wish List though. Thanks for sharing. :O)
