But I wanted Ombre Hair!!!

Last week Sunday (Thanksgiving) after ogling over ombre hair for hours I made the decision to visit my local Beauty Supply Store. I knew exactly what I wanted BLOND!

One thing to know about me is that I'm usually a NOT risk taker. Basically I'm the "analyzer" of my friends. The one who over thinks and gives out rationale advice...*Raises hand*

So, buying a lightener was a HUGE thing. I went back and forth with myself for hours after buying the dye. My biggest fear was what if It came out hideous!!
As usual my BF assured me that everything would be ok. I'm not sure if he really agreed or was just being comforting! LOL
My goal was the copper not the super bleached ends.
I felt like that would look best on my skin tone.

BEFORE:

AFTER:
Its crazy how a little copper can look so great!
 Different lighting

I kept the bleach in for 45 mins.
I really should have keep it in longer but I was scared LOL

Next time I'll go MUCH lighter :D

The Body Shop: Extra Virgin Minerals Foundation Line + Mature skin pictures

A few weeks ago the Body Shop came out with Extra Minerals Virgin Line. At least 75% of their product range contains Community Fair Trade ingredients or accessories. Amazing!

Check out the three foundations:
  • Cream-to-powder mineral foundation contains pure minerals and cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil for an immaculate, matte finish.
  • This moisturising fluid foundation contains ultra-fine minerals and extra virgin olive oil. It gives light to medium coverage with an immaculate, dewy finish.
  • This featherlight powder base gives a radiant, natural-looking finish and can be built up for extra coverage. It is non-comedogenic and suitable for sensitive skin.
I was lucky enough to be given an opportunity to try out the line in the darkest shade. I have a slight amount of red in my undertone, so the color was not 100% perfect.
Luckily I had a client who was going to an event which skin tone suited this color precisely!
She has perfect, wrinkle-free skin in her 50`s and only needed a light to medium coverage.
I love the dewy finish and how great this foundation looks with flash.

Happy to have these products added to my kit!

Marcelle Cosmetics Favs: Hydra-C Ultra-Light Matifying Fluid & Soothing Cleansing Water

As a Canadian Beauty Blogger I love highlighting Canadian beauty products. Marcelle is not a stranger to Spiced Beauty! I've been blogging about them since early 2010.

It is been a pretty "hot" fall and I'm still OILY!!

Lovely Isabelle from Marcelle read my mind when she sent me the Hydra-C Ultra-Light Matifying Fluid!

Since I don't wear foundation daily I really needed to invest in a GOOD matifier!

I remember when I tried it out the first time. For some reason I thought it would be dry like a primer but it wasn't. It was wet! I freaked out! Within seconds it dried to matte finish.

Definitely a recommend if your a oily blogger like myself LOL

Good Stuff: The formula rich in antioxidants, vitamins C, E and B5, aloe vera and cucumber extract.
SWATCH:
Last but not least Marcelle Soothing Cleansing Water!

I wear liner & mascara daily so removal is a serious issue for me.. especially after a LONG day!

This was my first time using Cleansing water and I'm a fan. I'm so surprised how water can clean off all my makeup even the waterproof stuff!!

I don't have to rub my eyes profusely like the oil based removers. It`s funny but once the oil gets into your eyes..its over..

My method - I soak a cotton pad with Soothing Cleansing Water and saturate it on the lid. If I have more time I do a extra foam cleanse, if not, since its a soothing water I just go to bed.

Good Stuff: Rinse-free formula that micro-emulsifies impurities and waterproof make-up without irritating skin, gentle for even the driest and most sensitive complexions.

Time with Mommy at Mc Donald's #EqualCanada #CBias

Every weekend my mom and I go shopping, so I felt like this was the perfect time to go to the newly renovated Mc Donald's in my area.  Odd fact we only have three Mc Donald's in my city!
I wish I could have taken a picture of how nice it was inside but it was packed!!
*NOTE* to self- NEVER go to Mc Donald's during lunch time its madness.
After sitting down and waiting for the line to calm down, we got up and ordered. Our Cashier was very sweet but new. Luckily he had the manager there helping him with our order. Before we ordered I showed the cashier two coupons that I received from the Shes Connected Conference for a free oatmeal & coffee.
My mother wanted her coffee black. I asked if they had packets of Equal Sweeteners to go with my tea. The manager looked at me awkwardly and replied "We don't have that".

So of course I followed up with "What low calorie option are available? ". Spenda was there ONLY option. As you can see in the picture above. We didn't even receive the pack of Spenda which was offered to us.

I really think that Mc Donald's should offer different brands of Sweeteners to their customers.
They offer variety on their menu, so a sweetener like equal would fit right in!
Overall my mom enjoyed her oatmeal & coffee.
I took this picture, so I could admire her nails <3

Did you know that using equal instead of a four teaspoons of sugar each day will reduce your calorie count by 20,440 a year? That's insane!
