How to get your toddler to wear a mask on the plane

The pandemic has changed a lot of things for us, hasn't it? From product shortages to Zoom conferences, it seems that everything in our lives have been impacted in some way. One recent things is that the mask ban has been lifted. But when it comes to flying in Canada- Masks are STILL needed for the whole flight.
For us grown ups, it can be hard enough to keep it on, but for the little ones? It seems to be impossible. I mean, it's hard enough to get them to keep their socks on!

So here are 3 tips for teaching your toddler how to properly wear their mask on an airplane.
I tried all of these with Ava before we left on our vacation this month.

 1. Get Them To Start Wearing Their Mask In The House - Toddlers primarily learn things through consistency. And, if you're only taking your little one out of the house every few days, the mask might seem like a huge change to them. Try having them wear their mask around the house for an hour a day, just to get them used to the feel of it.

 2. Get Them To Choose Which One They Want – Thankfully, we're at the point now where masks in all shapes and sizes are readily available. Try bringing your toddler to a place where they can pick out their own mask. Your little one will feel like they are more in control and appreciate the bright colors and fun shapes.

 3. Where Them Along With Your Toddler – Your kiddo loves to watch you and learn what you do. This is why wearing your own mask around the house and out in public can be really helpful for teaching them how to wear their own.

It's important to keep your little one safe, healthy and masked up on a Canadian plane.
