Pregnancy Skin: First and Second Trimester - How I battled it!

I’m not gonna lie, I was able to hide my pregnancy for so long because I hardly had any changes. I was one of the lucky ones in my first trimester and second trimester: Amazing skin. I truly did not start showing until I was about 6 months or so. At about 7 months is when the real skin changes started to occur. Some people are probably going to tell me that I’m overreacting but that’s when I started to get dark patches and occasional pimple flare up.... on odd parts of my face.

Think about it... if you’re not used to something and then you wake up and it happens out of nowhere... it’s totally overwhelming. This is ALL hereditary.
If your mom had all those pregnancy issues its totally going to happen to you.

In the first/second trimester this is what I used:

GEL?
If I was looking for a gel cleanser/ I used Reversa’s 3 in 1 mild gel cleanser ($23 CAN).
Currently on my second bottle.

Pros:
  • MILD
  • Hypoallergenic
  • Scent-free
FOAM?
If I wanted something that was more light and foamy... I used The Body Shop's Drops of Youth™ Youth Gentle Foaming Face Wash ($20 CAN).

Pros:
  • Quick
  • Vegan
  • Doesn't dry out skin
SCRUB?
If I ever needed a scrub... I use the Freeman Feeling Beautiful Charcoal & Black Sugar Polishing Mask ($4.48 CAN). Another great vegan product that you need to add to your list! Perfect product to put on before you hit the shower.

Pros:
  • An amazing deal!
  • Great scrub
  • Leaves your skin soft
Throughout my whole pregnancy, I stuck with one toner and that was again The Body Shop Aloe Vera Calming Toner ($17 CAN). My bottle is almost done!

Pros:
  • Fragrance-free
  • Perfect for Sensitive skin
  • Feels great on the skin
When it came to moisturizing, I initially continued with the Arbonne Intelligence Nourishing Facial Oil ($76 CAN). Which got me through the winter! The second product that I’ve played with was the Olay Luminous Whip Light Face Moisturizer Cream ($36 CAN). That is probably the one product that I’ve been using- that is not vegan but I love how lightweight it is.

Until the end of the third trimester, I'm going to do more masks. Right now, I have been playing with the 7th Heaven range from Montagne Jeunesse ($1.99 CAN). Shown below are the Charcoal + Black Sugar Peel plus Charcoal + Black Clay Peel Dead Sea Mud packs. I'm trying my best NOT to be oily and uncomfortable before I give birth! Haha!

Are there any products that you feel that I should be trying??
