Fashion: Seasonal Transition Pieces

I hope that you guys of all recovered from the holiday madness. I’m trying my best to get better from a cold (sad face). I have a question for you! How do you transition your clothes to be workable for all seasons? For example, you’re not going to wear a skirt in -40 below weather... Yes that was actually the weather here two weeks ago. Canadian problems!

Here are four key pieces everyone should have in their closet

Long Kimono Dusters
These are literally something that I wear 24/7- 365 days. They’re comfortable and can be found almost anywhere. You can get them in a variety of sleeve types! I have no sleeves, short sleeves, 3/4 sleeves and of course long sleeved. You can easily dress it up by wearing your favourite little black dress or even a one-piece jumper. Appropriate for all seasons! Check out Nordstrom for some unique pattern pieces like this one.

Walmart George -Fall Preview 2013

My first encounter with George Clothing was back in 1999. On my first trip to an ASDA store in Manchester, England. I remember high quality products with affordable pricing.

Fast forward to 2013! Nothing has changed.

I had the opportunity to view the George Preview for Fall 2013.
This fall at your local Walmart, you can get your hands on fab prints, metallics and studs!

All items that I would definitely add to my Fall wardrobe.

World MasterCard Fashion Week Backstage Hair & Beauty: Joe Fresh

How amazing is this picture?
It was taken while Jorge from Redken was spraying the models hair.

Maybelline:
I loved the fact that this look was one that you could wear daily. My favourite BB cream from Maybelline was used on the skin to give a dewy effect. Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Liner in Blackest Black was used to line the upper lid. Maybelline Great lash was used on the lashes. Dream Bouncy Blush in Candy Coral was used on the cheeks.  Grace Lee explained the look as "Tres, tres rocker chic"!

Redken:
They cut the model's locks off to complete the look! I'm joking! Seriously though doesn't the wig look really natural. Jorge from Redken got the look by wrapping the hair using Fashion Works 12 and using bobby pins to compress it. Once the wig was on it was great to see them cut into it and use Wax Blast 10 & Fashion Works 12 to style it. It's crazy to see how much movement a wig can have right after coming out of a box.

I can't wait to see what Joe fresh has in store for us next season!

World MasterCard Fashion Week: KORHANI home Carpet Couture Runway Show

It's that time again!
World MasterCard Fashion Week.

Toronto is buzzing with new trends, amazing shows and fresh faces!

I had the opportunity to attend the KORHANI home Carpet Couture Runway Show.
I was completely blown away with the precise tailoring and unique designs. I had to keep reminding myself that they`re wearing Carpet during the whole show!

Check out some of the shots I captured!
The first one is my favourite because it's creepy and invokes emotion.

Can you believe that this is carpet?

Every Girl Needs a Great Blazer!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Express Canada for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
Take a look in your closet, how many blazers do you own?
Would you believe that I own over twenty different blazers!
YES.. you heard me correctly!
I understand that twenty may be excessive to some but I'm a strong believer that every girl should at least own one great blazer. Whether it's cropped, boyfriend or tailored cut.
A good blazer is perfect to throw on to jazz up any outfit.
Have you ever walked into a store and found a blazer that fit you like a glove!
That's how I felt when I walked into Express Canada.

I found a blazer that didn't need to be cut or tailored and also complimented my skin tone.
I know that this this cheesy but I honestly feel like this blazer was made for me!
This picture was taken right after my movie date with my boyfriend.

Adding a deep coloured wine blazer was the perfect item I needed to break up my all black outfit.
It was definitely the focal point of my outfit.
My favourite thing about the jacket is the different colored lapel, material and length.
I can admit it, I'm short. I didn't need to cuff this blazer a lot because the arm length was perfect.
If I wore this blazer out for New Years Eve, I would pair it with a cute sequin dress!
It's hard to see but I wore these awesome Covered Wedge Bootie which is also from Express.
I love this shoe because it has a hidden 2" wedge heel. It zips at the side and has a skid resistant outsole.
Perfect for the Canadian winters!
