Losing friends after having kids: My Thoughts

Here is the truth… Losing friends after having kids can be tough, but it's a common experience.
Sometimes we grow apart.

Sometimes we’re headed in a different direction.

Here are a few tips to help you cope:
Firstly, remember that it's normal for friendships to change after having kids. Your priorities and schedules shift, and it's natural for some friendships to fall by the wayside. Now we’re focusing on changing diapers, making play dates and keeping sane LOL!

Instead of dwelling on the loss, try to focus on the friendships that have grown stronger since becoming a parent. My situation is different but I’m so thankful for my small group of friends and my online community. Plus new friends who are going through similar things. We count on each other for advice and support. If you're feeling lonely or isolated, consider seeking out new parent groups in your community.

Another favourite is Facebook mom groups. Girl they can get wild at times BUTTTTT overall it’s a supportive network of people who are going through similar experiences as you.

Finally, don't feel guilty for letting go of friendships that are no longer serving you. It's okay to prioritize your family and your own wellbeing. I say this to say don’t feel like you have to give everything up. I have friends who don’t have kids who are up to date with Ava more than others LOL.

Losing friends after having kids can be difficult, but it doesn't have to be the end of the world.
