Essie Loves Tattify

Last month, I had the opportunity to attend Fashion week at David Pecaut Square.
One of my highlights was visiting Essie's media-exclusive backstage lounge to get some #essielove.
My nails were done using one of the newest spring 2015 collections!
I choose "picked perfect" as a base with an accent of "garden variety" from the flowerista collection! This collection marks the first collaboration with designer Rebecca Minkoff.
She's essie's global color designer.

To jazz up my manicure we used Tattify!
Tattify sells temporary tattoos and nail art wraps.
Definitely a trend that we will see everywhere in the upcoming months.

After all of that was done, I went into the mani cam for my close up!

Do you like my nails?

·      NK Base Coat
·      Essie "Splash of Grenadine"
·      Sinful Colors "Rise and Shine"
·      L.A. Colors Art Deco "White"
·      Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat
·      rhinestones
·      dotting tool
·      tape
1. Paint thumb and middle fingers with Sinful Colors "Rise and Shine". Paint the rest with Essie "Splash of Grenadine".

2. Once nails are completely dry, tape your Index, Middle, and Pinky fingers as seen below.
*Tip* - Stick the tape onto your hand before sticking it to your nail. If the tape is too sticky it can pull off the nail polish underneath it.

3. Paint them with Sinful Colors "Rise and Shine" and carefully remove the tape while it's still wet.

4. Next, take your white nail art polish and create thin lines that follow the designs you've just created on your middle and pinky nails. You can then stick a rhinestone onto your middle finger using clear nail polish.

5. Get your dotting tool and dot it up!
Don't have a dotting tool? No worries.
I actually used the end of a bobbypin for this.

6. Apply a topcoat and you're done!

Of course you can substitute these nail polishes with your colors of choice.
Happy Painting!

Quo by ORLY New Fall Launch

Did you know Quo by Orly polish has become one of Canada's leading nail polish brands. With high quality like this and the price tag of $10 CDN each I understand why they are so popular.

Back in June, I had the opportunity to attend their preview at Polson Pier and check out ORLY's new fall launches. In attendance was Jeff Pink, ORLY founder. Did you know that he invented the French manicure in the mid-1970? Also celebrity manicurist Kimmie Kyees was there as well on hand to speak about ORLY's partnership with Shoppers Drug Mart and Quo.

The Orly smartGELS LED lamp is so cute! Honestly, when I first saw it I thought it was a phone case.  It's actually portable light-weight LED lamp that packs a punch. It has a timer with three settings: 15 seconds, 30 seconds and 60 seconds depending on your manicure. It also charges by USB which means that you do not need to worry about batteries. The lamp is $85CDN. I love the fact that it's small enough to fit in my purse and it can come with me on my vacations.

Each lamp came with a personal touch!
We had the opportunity to get our name on it in one of the Quo by Orly polish colours.
This August look out for shades from their fall line which features some
lovely purples, pinks, reds and a cool blue.

They will also have a megapixel effects line which innovative formula showcases millions of glitter pixels for a multi-dimensional finish. There are seven colors in the collection.
You can wear it with out without a top coat.

Are gel nails more of your thing?
They're also expanding their GelFX line and by adding over 20 new shades.

I have been familiar with Kimmie's work for awhile now on Rihanna.
She's totally down to earth and she even complemented my nails.

Last but not least, Nail Techs were on hand to give us manicures inspired by Kimmie's work!

Two-Toned Nails with Glitter

I love doing my nails. If I had the time I would redo them everyday!

Nail art has become so popular lately. The idea of doing nail art on yourself overwhelms a lot of people.
You don't need to be an artist to turn heads with your nails.

Did you know that you could use items from your local dollar store to assist you with your nail art? Like circular reinforcements that you used in elementary school for lined paper! Use them as a guideline for half moon manicures. Those triangular white makeup sponges that come in packs of 100. Cut them up and use them to create an ombre nail look with your favourite polishes.

Whenever my manicures start to expire I just get out my glitter.

Hardcandy has some of the best glitters!

Nails of the Week: Avon MegaWatt Nail Enamel

I was requested to start doing more nail posts.
Which is prefect because my nail stash is growing out of control.

This week's nails are from the MegaWatt Nail Enamels collection from Avon!
Colour: POP
Break down the color barrier with these high-voltage neon shades! Leave subtle in the drawer and go for something bold. Something electrifying! Choose any one of our brilliant MegaWatt shades and you can be sure to upgrade your mani to a higher frequency!

Neons are hot for the summer!
To make my accent nail stand out, I did an ombre effect on top.
Colour: Shock ontop of Pop
Are you a fan of  bold nails?

Nails: Gelish Seafoam Green

I'm slowly adding more pastels colours into my wardrobe. I had some nail issues for a bit but now they are back to healthy. I decided it would be a good time to try a gel polish to grow out my nails to my ideal length. I went to the salon and they used Gelish Seafoam green on my nails.

To spice up my nails the nail tech did a funky design on my accent nail.

Love!

What colour should I try next?
