It's summer and pastels are now in swing again!

Just in time for Mother's Day Sally Hansen has come out with Mother’s Day Salon Gel Polish collection ($14.95 CAN). Which is available for a limited time exclusively at Shoppers Drug Mart.

If your mom is similar to mine- A lady who always has her nails done, this is the perfect Mother's Day gift! She can save money and still look fabulous.

The colour is step number two.
To complete the whole process you need:
  • LED Lamp
  • Gel Base Coat
  • Gel Top Coat
  • Nail Cleanser Pads

The colours from left to right:
Laven-Darling -lilac purple
For Teal -vibrant turquoise

Just Peachy -glistening coral,
Glamor-fied -metallic nude

I tried the gel polishes and I was very impressed.

Check out other colours on sale:

They apply smoothly (no streaking) and the colour exactly what you see inside the bottle.

I'm wearing Laven-Darling!
Which I might add looking amazing on my skin tone.

If you see these in Shoppers Drug Mart pick them up because they're limited-edition and will be gone soon!

My L'Oreal Extraordinaire Gel-Lacquer 1-2-3 manicure experience

Gel polishes are on the rise.
Some people want the durability of Gel polishes without the crazy removal time.

I was recently sent L'Oreal's new Extraordinaire Gel-Lacquer 1-2-3 manicure set.
I had no idea what to expect.

It was a three-step process.
Shake gently. After applying Gel-Primer, apply 2 coats followed by Extraordinaire Gel-Glaze.

Let me start off by saying I love the consistency of the polish.
No bubbling or streaking during my application.

Get the kit here:

All I needed was one thick coat!
I was extremely impressed with the dry time.

After 7 days

Pros:
  • No MAJOR chipping.
  • Colour stayed on pretty good for 7 days.
  • No UV light needed.
Con:
  • Shine was gone.
  • Visible wear up close.
I will say that the gel-lacquer holds up better than regular polish for me. I just wish that it still had the shine like my regular gel manicures after a week. The removal was a breeze. I used regular nail polish remover. No issues/ damages to my nail beds.

What do you think about my 7 day wear?

Nails: Gelish Seafoam Green

I'm slowly adding more pastels colours into my wardrobe. I had some nail issues for a bit but now they are back to healthy. I decided it would be a good time to try a gel polish to grow out my nails to my ideal length. I went to the salon and they used Gelish Seafoam green on my nails.

To spice up my nails the nail tech did a funky design on my accent nail.

Love!

What colour should I try next?

Don't quote me on it but look at the cute "design" I did below.

I got several compliments on it and I really surprised people when I said it I did it on my own with a gel polish. I can't wait to try out more designs!  For reference I used the gels Lush & Ballet. Perfect combo!

Are you a fan of gel polishes?

My GetGelled Manicure Bar Experience

Recently, I had the most fun ever at a nail bar.
As crazy as it seems, I can count the times I've had fun at a nail bar on one hand.

The place I'm talking about is called Get Gelled! Manicure bar.
A new, cute and modern place located in the Yonge/Bloor area.

I was recently contacted by Sun (owner) to see if I was interested in one of their services. After looking at her portfolio I knew I had to come in. I'm obsessed with nail art! I never got the opportunity to get it done in my area because nobody knows what the hell I'm talking about. Sun knew exactly wanted!

Here is the finished outcome!
GORGEOUS!!!!

Close-up of my nails

Unfortunately, I lost the bow today :(
It was a lovely seven days...haha.
This totally gives me the opportunity to go back again!

If you're in the area check out Get Gelled! Manicure Bar.
