Three Home Crafting DIYs to do During the Time that you’re Home

With quarantine being the new normal in so many of our lives, a lot of us are finding that we have way more time on our hands than we’re used to. If you find yourself bored in your house- wishing you had something interesting to do, consider using the extra time to create a better atmosphere for yourself and revamping your space!

This is the perfect time to get in touch with your environment and create an ambiance that fuels your creativity and gives you a newfound appreciation for your home.

I’ve come up with three easy home crafting DIYs that you can do during your time at home. You’ll be able to get your imagination to work and create beautiful pieces for your place in no time!

Three basic video/photography tips that you should know

I'm a firm believer in "Everyone needs a refresher". Sometimes I find myself slipping in the blog world. Basically doing things more sloppy than I'm use to. Which is not a good look but I always bounce back. I often have to reshoot things because I'm not satisfied.

Sometimes you have to go back to a check list.
- Is the image appealing?
- Is it too dark?
- Is there detail in the image?

Adulting: Shopping at Lowe's Canada

So the first time in my adult life, I have a lawn & backyard which requires maintenance. I grew up in house which was a part of the condominium complex. So all my parents had to do was pay the complex monthly and they would take care of everything outside. They took care of the grass, shovelled snow, paint and even planted trees/flowers. Now as a married woman....  although I don't have to mow the lawn or shovel snow, it is my responsibility to try to keep the house as warm and inviting as can be!

I was sent a Lowe's Canada Spring/Summer Style Guide for inspiration. Which literally made me want to overhaul my whole house and start over. The emphasis was on 4 patio trends: Metro Modern, Renewed Formality, Gracious Living & Cuban Cool. Each theme takes the guess workout of the stress of finding decor that works together. Plus it's exclusive to Lowe’s Canada.

Here are some of my favourite looks:

Love Breakfast again with MIXIT.ca

I'm the queen of picky eating. I hate everything. If you seen my approved food list- you would laugh. The hardest meal of the day for me is breakfast. I never know what to eat. It's so easy to pick up a cereal chalked full of sugar but hard to find one that I really like.

When I got the email to try Mixit.ca- I wasn't sure what to expect.
I was able to make an awesome cereal blend that I'm a huge fan of!

Mixit.ca is unique because YOU choose your ingredients OR buy a pre-made mix.
  1. Start off with a cereal base
  2. Then add as many nuts, grains and dried fruits as you want.
The nutrition facts are printed on the tube.
My mix: Spiced Beauty
BASE:Sunshine in the soul
Strawberry (freeze dry)
Fuji and Granny Smith Apple (freeze dry)
Organic Pineapple
Mango (freeze dry)
Blackberry (freeze dry)

Quick Facts:
  • Canadian Company-made in Montreal
  • 12-15 full bowls out of each order
  • Shelf life- 3 months-4 months
  • Most ingredients are from Canadian suppliers
  • Price varies based on the mix

Would you be interested in making your own mix or do you like the store bought cereals?

Yellow tail Moscato and Nails Inc collaboration is back at the LCBO

Back in June, I had the opportunity to go to a launch of the brand partnership between [yellow tail] Moscato and Nails Inc. With Summer coming to an end, it's time to let loose and soak of the last bit of fun.

In select LCBO stores across Canada select [yellow tail] Moscato bottles ($10.90 CAN) will come with one of five complimentary nail polish shades by Nails Inc.

I've always been a fan of Nails Inc! Their vivid nail colours and formula are amazing. What could be better than enjoying a bottle of wine and giving yourself a mani and pedi.

If you don't know, I'm obsessed with Moscato. I can tell you that [yellow tail] Moscato does not disappoint! Don't believe me?

Get your self a bottle now available from August 14 to September 10.
Let me know what you think!
