Do you prefer a Matte or Dewy foundation finish?

Monday, January 31, 2011

I personally prefer a matte finish. My T-zone can get really oily at times so I feel like it's better to be maintain a matte look. Here I used MAC Prowear in NW45 with a combo of  Per-Fekt Beauty Decadent skin perfector. I combat oil with Kett Sett - No-Color Setting Powder & MAC Blot Film!

One of these days I plan on going "Dewy" ...maybe summer.
I think if I spray some Fix+ or Charge water on my face, it should do the trick.

Do you prefer a Matte or Dewy foundation finish? What foundation do you use?

FOTD: Cat Eyeliner & Glossy Plum Lips

Friday, January 28, 2011

Photos don't do this look justice! It was amazing up close. *SIGH* This is the look I wore to my bf's friends b-day. I was totally unsure what to look to do but I knew I need something simple with little touch ups.
The main products used was:
Eyes-
Maybelline Eye Studio™ Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner in Blackest Black
BarryM 3 N 1 Mascara
Lips-
Faceatelier Lip Glaze-Shiraz
I used my Eve Pearl 104- Eyeliner brush to draw that perfect cat eye flick! First starting at the edge then bringing it inwards.

Nail Of the day: BarryM Instant Nail Effects

Wednesday, January 26, 2011

I remember when this product first came out UK bloggers were going crazy! It sold out in stores immediately. As a Canadian blogger I was super jealous that I couldnt get a hold of it here. Now I finally got a bottle and I'm in love!!!!

I layered it over a robin egg blue nail polish. This picture was taken after 5 days of wear!!!

You have to have a certain confidence when wearing this polish because people will stare LOL!
This polish dries to a matte finish but I decided to put two coats of a clear polish to seal it in. I can't believe how long it lasted.
How do you feel about BarryM Instant Nail Effects Nail polish?

How I keep moisturized in the winter- MAC, Gerber & Dermaglow

Monday, January 24, 2011

I cant believe I haven't done a post like this before! Living in Canada comes with its ups and downs. This is how I'm battling the winter 2011:

For ALL over:
MAC Naked Honey Salve
Formulated from honey, organic beeswax, sunflower oil, and other natural ingredients, this rich honey-scented and flavoured salve instantly moisturizers and helps recondition dry skin. Multi-purpose. Use everywhere.
I love this because its NOT greasy. I hate using products that make me feel like I'm putting petroleum jelly all over my body. This can used alone or combined to seal in moisture.

Elbows and in between fingers
Gerber Grins & Giggles Moisturizing Stick

Soothes dry, chapped skin

I got this at Big Lots in USA. I know its for babies   I love the fact that its small & lightly scented! I bring it everywhere because it`s not messy.

Arms & hands:
MAC Mineralized All Over Lotion

A moisturizing lotion for face and body formulated with M∙A∙C's exclusive diamond-infused Charged Water technology. Silky and smooth in application, dynamic in action: Fast-tracks hydration to quickly restore dry skin's natural balance. Lightweight, and free of fragrance, mineral oil, and colour. Use alone on face and body or blend with pigments or foundations to sheer out application. Good for all skin types.

This product is AMAZING!  Super Hydrating. Yes its $29.50 each but a little goes a long way. This is a product that I can use alone and not have to worry if I`m ashy a few hours after.

Face:
 Dermaglow Hydration Fix

Whether your complexion is dry, oily, or somewhere in between, this serum corrects dehydration by delivering an intensive dose of moisture. The result is skin that’s supple, youthful and radiant.

This is a Canadian product. I can only use in the winter because its thick!  Perfect Barrier to defend your face from the harsh winter weather.

Have you tried any of these products?

FOTD using Barry M Cosmetics!

Wednesday, January 19, 2011

This is a simple look for my movie date to see Black Swan. Since I have a lot of Barry M goodies, I decided to test some of it out. Girls..everything I used was soo pigmented! Products like these just make you fall in love with makeup all over. Haha! I know it's weird but my "junkies" exactly what I mean.

Here is what I used:
  •  Barry M Dazzle Dust in 44 (Bronze)
  • Barry M Lip Lacquer Pencil Crayon 2 (Cherry Red)
  • Barry M 3 N 1 Mascara
I need to spotlight the Dazzle Dust & Lip Lacquer because there GORGEOUS. Please click the pictures to see these in HD.
I generally never touch a lipstick with sparkles because they look "gritty'...but the lacquers are smooth & glossy. I want every color!

What do you think of the look?
