Maybelline Volum’Express The Colossal Cat Eyes Mascara (Guest Post)

Maybelline Volum’Express The Colossal Cat eyes claims, “Colossal lashes go fully feline in one stroke”. Lush collagen formula and claw brush fill out lashes up to 8x the volume with fabulous cat-like corners, instantly. It’s wild.

The mascara is available in a washable and waterproof formula and is available in one colour Glam Black.

I tried the washable formula and I have to say that it has some great staying power. I find certain mascaras will flake or transfer on my oily eyelids but this mascara didn’t do any of those things. The curved brush was something I wasn’t used to at first but after a few days of use I got the hang of it and it really does give the cat like effect that it claims.

This mascara logically should create a ton of volume, as it’s apart of the Volum’Express line. I will say it creates volume as for 8x the volume I’m not sure I buy that and while we are on the topic where do cosmetic companies come up with the whole amount of volume they claim? Just double the volume is enough. I guess I could some how measure my lashes before and then after but I think we all know I won’t be doing that.

I’ve tried the regular Colossal mascara before and I would say it gives more volume that the Cat Eyes edition. I will say that the Cat Eyes edition gives a bit of volume more so I found it to be a lengthening mascara.

I really enjoyed using the Maybelline Volum’Express The Colossal Cat Eyes mascara. If you happen to be a person who has unruly eyelashes that decided to go every which way and a normal mascara brush just cant accommodate how much your eyelashes are here to party (think about Elaine from Seinfeld dancing) I would say you are really going to enjoy this mascara the curve of the brush is going to hit every lash no matter which direction its pointing in.

Maybelline is pretty universal in where its sold so you should be able to get this mascara at a drugstore or the high street.

COVERGIRL Mascaras

This summer Covergirl wants you to unleash your inner Beauty Rebel.

I automatically gravitated towards the new mascaras! Mascara will always be one of my weakness.
I can have five bottles open at one time. A different lash look for every occasion.
Both of these are very unique but get the job done.

Left:
Flamed Out Mascara ($9.99 CDN)
Make a bold statement with winged lashes that curve up and out. The unique wire brush coats your lashes for an instant volume boost.
If you're going for all over volume, I'd definitely recommend this mascara. You can also build more volume by letting it fully dry in-between coats. In my opinion, if you have time to play with your lashes this wire brush is awesome for getting the look that you want to achieve.

Right:
Clump Crusher Mascara by Lashblast (10.99 CDN)
A breakthrough in no-clump mascara. Get 200% more volume and zero clumps. Features an innovative double-sided brush with lash-loading and clump-combing zones to crush clumps.
This mascara is definitely for definition. I got more of a natural lash look when using it. This is the perfect mascara to use when you're in a rush because you do not have to worry about separating your eyelashes. Plus I love the curved rubber wand.

Make Up For Ever Smoky Lash Mascara Review

One of the most popular MUFE mascaras is their Smoky Lash formula ($22US). Last November at IMATS I got my hands on one for the discounted price of $15.00 CDN. Honestly I had so much mascaras open at the time, so I didn't open this one for a few months.

OMG!!!
I was totally missing out this mascara is freaking amazing!
A mascara that gives the lashes curl, volume, length, and intense pigment.

Lets face it most curl-lengthening-voluminous mascara clump after the first coat! I was able to do up to three coats and get a great look. Also the color was a true black, not grey like other mascaras.

Lashes with NO Mascara:
My lashes are pretty full & decent length
WITH Mascara:
Much better!
Overall:
I would definitely recommend this mascara. I know its not your typical drugstore mascara price but sometimes you need to treat yourself. The formula is creamy and not super wet. This makes building coats easier to achieve your desired look.

You can find this mascara at Sephora.

How I get long luscious lashes! What is your favorite mascara?

Ever since I was 13 years old I was obsessed with lashes. I got my free AVON mascara and never turned back! I have to add that after 12 years of mascara wearing I still have healthy, full & curly lashes that I'm not embarrassed to sport with without mascara as well.

I personally like layering my mascaras. It's a process that starts off with a light coat of a lengthening mascara. My current choice is CARGO 3 Triple Action Mascara as a base coat. I let it try fully then I apply two coats of Marcelle Power Volume Mascara. Lastly finish off with CARGO 3 Triple Action Mascara on the tips.

It's a tedious process but I achieve lashes that look exactly like falsies! So my question for you is do you layer your mascaras?

The Marcelle Mascara was sent to spiced beauty for review purposes. I wont the Cargo mascara in a contest.
