China Glaze Magnetix Collection

I recently got the opportunity to try out two polishes from China Glaze Magnetix collection on the Nailpolishcanada.com website.

These polishes are made with magnetic particles that form designs when a magnetic is placed over it.

China Glaze Magnetix comes in six different shades with one all-in-one magnet.

 The magnet has three patterns: Star, Chevron & Diagonal Lines. Out of the three patterns the star was my favorite!

For best results first apply a base coat to clean, bare nails. Then apply a coat of colored polish and immediately hold the design magnet over the polish for 10-15 seconds.

The experience:
I found this kinda difficult at first. I was adding to much polish and the design wouldn't "come" through. After a while when I only added one coat, I was more successful. These pictures below are from my first attempts:

As weird as this seems... I love the fact that the polish tried quietly. Also the colors are rich & vibrant.

 The con in terms of the magnet is that you have to work fast. As soon as you apply the one coat, apply the magnet ASAP. I had to learn how to master getting the magnet close enough not to ruin the polish.

Overall, I find the idea of magnetic polish pretty cool. I probably would only put them on my accent nails. Perfect way to change up a look with very little efort.

I love Montagne Jeunesse Masks!

Very few people know this but I love face masks! 

My love started at 14 when I use to make my own concoctions. It was fun but a total mess. Once I started to make my own money, I bought the ones at the store. They were cheaper and much more effective. Montagne Jeunesse is among my favorites.

We pulp, crush, squeeze, juice and extract all of the goodness of nature's fruits and flowers to help make you beautiful. All products are vegetarian, never tested on animals or use suppliers who have, and are as green and eco-friendly as possible.

I reviewed the "Crystallised Honey & Passion Flower Mask"  in one of my earlier posts. 

It was gentle and smelled great.

 I'm thinking of creating a mask series to show you all what I use.

How to fix a water damaged eyeshadow!

Everyone has that one eyeshadow which looks so much better when its wet. Mine was a single eyeshadow from NYX.

After using it wet for a few months I realized that I didn't like the look of the shadow. I also noticed that it wasn't as pigmented anymore.

I had two options: scrape of the top (risk damaging it) or find a non evasive way to get off the of layer.

After racking my mind for a while I found some masking tape. Check out the results in the video below!

I still can not get over the price of the essence line.

I have tested out some of the products and I'm astonished how great the quality is.

The eyeliners are long lasting, the glosses are not sticky and the polishes have great consistency.

I'm happy to see brands like Essence come to Canada and offer more variety at a lower cost.
