Check out Topbox.ca!

A few weeks ago I was approached by a rep from topbox.ca to try a box. I was skeptic at first but it exceeded ALL of my expectations.

Topbox is actually similar to "other" Canadian boxes. They deliver 4 deluxe beauty samples each month. What caught my eye is how they provide the 'top' brands in their boxes for ONLY $10. This was a complimentary box but I made an account and filled out a profile on their website. I assume later on they will make boxes according to your preferences and skin tone. That would be amazing because I would hate getting products that didn't work for me.

This box had two deluxe samples & two full sized items.

Check out what was in November's box!

The Body Shop: Extra Virgin Minerals Foundation Line + Mature skin pictures

A few weeks ago the Body Shop came out with Extra Minerals Virgin Line. At least 75% of their product range contains Community Fair Trade ingredients or accessories. Amazing!

Check out the three foundations:
  • Cream-to-powder mineral foundation contains pure minerals and cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil for an immaculate, matte finish.
  • This moisturising fluid foundation contains ultra-fine minerals and extra virgin olive oil. It gives light to medium coverage with an immaculate, dewy finish.
  • This featherlight powder base gives a radiant, natural-looking finish and can be built up for extra coverage. It is non-comedogenic and suitable for sensitive skin.
I was lucky enough to be given an opportunity to try out the line in the darkest shade. I have a slight amount of red in my undertone, so the color was not 100% perfect.
Luckily I had a client who was going to an event which skin tone suited this color precisely!
She has perfect, wrinkle-free skin in her 50`s and only needed a light to medium coverage.
I love the dewy finish and how great this foundation looks with flash.

Happy to have these products added to my kit!

CARGO Voyages Gloss Collection Review + Swatches

I recently received a CARGO Voyages Gloss Collection for review. I'm a sucker for cute packing & color stories, so these became my summertime glosses. I was able to bring these babies everywhere!
GLOSS BREAKDOWN:
Consistency:
These glosses are thin but smooth.
Four out of five have micro glitter....which can be a pain for some.

Price:
This collection is $22.00 on ebeauty.ca.
If your Canadian divide that into 5 adding HST.. that comes up to $4.97 each.

Color Pay off:
These colors are very sheer **It depends on your natural lip color**.
I find that I have to do 2-3 applications to get some color pay off.

SWATCHES:

RECAP:

OVERALL:
My favorite colors are Tokyo, Paris & Serengeti.
Las Vegas is too light & Morocco is too glittery.

Foundation Series: Natural Fx by Cover Fx with Swatches

Do you all remember when I posted this picture a few weeks ago?
I got a lot of questions on the Cover fx foundation that I was wearing.
Here is a spotlight post on Natural fx by Cover fx.
Let me start off by saying this is a 2 in 1 foundation: Concealer & Foundation.
I love the fact that it can be layered depending on what coverage YOU want!
My secret I add a tad bit of water if I just want super light over coverage.

I have two foundation methods that I use depending on my mood:
  • Light coverage all over
  • Light coverage all over + extra coverage under the eyes
Interested in the coverage?
*For reference I am a B45*
Check out this picture:
PROS:
  • Dewy finish (light)
  • No white cast
  • SPF 15
  • Over 20 shades
  • Non-pore clogging

Have you used Cover Fx Natural fx foundation?

Spiced Beauty: June 2011 favorites

I totally struggle with putting out my monthly favorites. I apologize but I`ll try to put out one a month for the rest of the year!

Before I go on to my eight favorites... Let me start off by explaining my how my June was.

VERY stressful...unfortunately, I didn't have time to indulge in a lot of beauty products.

This July I will try to switch it up! So be sure to look out for that.

  1. Dove go fresh Body Mist in Nectarine and White Ginger scent-Perfect for anyone on the go. I can spray this like four times and it wont be overpowering.
  2. Korres Deluxe Size Body Butter in Fig- I use to refuse anything with figs in it.. Bad childhood memories..haha. The Shea butter and Figs makes my hands feel AMAZING!
  3. EOS lipbalm in Lemon- Huge thank you to Fabdiva20 she sent me a lovely package which included this lipbalm. I'm truly obsessed with how soft it makes my lips!
  4. Annabelle 4SHOW Eyeshadow in Tiger-Eye- All of these colors are perfect for my skin-tone. Click the picture for a HD close up.
  5. Diane Lai REJUVENATE- This was one of the first moisturizers which has not irritated my skin after prolonged use. If you have sensitive skin you will know how hard it is to find product that!
  6. H&M Organic Lipgloss- It was a $1.00 on sale! Amazing for low maintenance days because it`s long lasting.
  7. Vasanti Eye Wonder Cream- I currently don't have dark circles, wrinkles or puffiness. But dark eye circles run in my family, so I`m trying my best to prevent it before it occurs.
  8. Ecotools Powder Brush- Its amazingly soft, so why wouldn't it be a fav :)

Mary Kay® Mineral Eye Color swatches

I had the chance to try six Mary Kay® Mineral Eye Color for Spiced Beauty. Although they looked amazing, I had no idea how they would look on me.

Would they be cheap, non-pigmented or low quality?

After my first swatch, I couldn't believe how they were the complete opposite of my thoughts.

I wear mostly mattes and we all know how chalky and unflattering they can be but these have quickly become my favorites. Let's get on with the swatches!
