John Frieda frizz-ease & full REPAIR

Friday, March 30, 2012

Summer is coming fast!
I don't know where you are but in Canada we have been experiencing REALLY good weather.
Two of the most popular summer styles I will be rocking are straight & curly hair.

Thankfully I have been introduced to amazing products from John Frieda for my summer hairstyles.

Sheer Solution™ Lightweight Frizz Control

This product is not greasy and has a light scent.
I don't have time to curl my hair every morning.
So I use a few drops on my dry curls to eliminate frizzies and make my curls survive another day.

How to use:
Shake the DUAL FORMULA until mixed. Then shake 10 drops into palm, rub hands together and smooth through damp hair. Use more or less product depending on the length and texture of hair. DO NOT RINSE OUT. Style as usual.
Full Repair™ Style Revival™ Heat-Activated Styling Spray
This spray is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!
I try not to use a lot of heat on my hair because I don't want any breakage.
It makes my hair shiny and not heavy.

How to use:
This breakthrough, heat-activated styling spray, with Inca Inchi Oil, adds manageability, body and flexible hold to any style. Works with heat tools and helps protect against breakage and damage, creating shiny, versatile styles that last all day.

Used on my Bella Dream Hair extension

Have you used any John Frieda products before?

How to Keep Your Cuticles Looking Their Best

Wednesday, March 28, 2012

Summer is coming! You know what that means..
Fabulous summer nail trends!

Dana Caruso, Sally Hansen Beauty Expert shares the best way to keep your cuticles looking their best:
Treating your cuticles is one of the most important inclusions to your weekly nail regime, particularly when the cooler weather sucks the moisture from your body, your skin is drier and in need ofa little more TLC. When treating the cuticle it’s important to follow the “GOLDEN RULE” only remove what is torn, cracked, and lifted! NEVER cut what is attached and intact. Sally Hansen’s Cuticle Eraser Balm, contains cucumber and green tea extracts known to moisturize, soothe and nourish rough dry skin. If the cuticle is neglected it can become dehydrated and potentially sore, so it’s a good idea to keep your cuticles supple and nourished.

David Dixon World MasterCard Fashion Week 2012

Friday, March 23, 2012

This last post concludes my Toronto Fashion Week coverage.
The highlight of my experience was sitting front row for David Dixon. Yes... FRONT ROW.
I was close enough to touch the models. Best experience ever.

Thankfully, I had my DSLR to take exclusive front row pictures. David Dixon's line channeled the famous Alfred Hitchcock movie "The Birds". Being a Broadcasting graduate I have analysed the film from top to bottom. It was great seeing the inspiration come to life.

Before I share my pictures,
I want to share the beauty look from Maybelline.
Eyes:
Master Precise Liner in Black
Illegal Length Mascara in Black
Mixture of Baby Lips Quenched & Eye Studio Color Tattoo Cream Gel in Too Cool

Backstage Maybelline Beauty Holt Renfrew- World Mastercard Toronto Fashion Week:

Monday, March 19, 2012

I cannot explain how grateful I am that I attended Toronto Fashion Week backstage courtesy of Maybelline. I've always been a fan of their products and I'm excited that they choose me to be apart of their experience. Hands down one of the best things I've EVER done in my life. I got to meet a lot of amazing people & talk about fashion/beauty.  I took a lot of pictures throughout the day.
Join me as I break down the hair & makeup looks from the past week.

Day One:
Holt Renfrew
Look#2
This look was ALL about the Strong Brow & Nude Lips.
Baby Lips in Peppermint & Peach Kiss were very popular backstage.

Maybelline Canada’s head makeup artist, Grace Lee used the Unstoppable eyeliner in Espresso to create an over extended brow.

Grace Lee explained:
"Glossy black lids add to the edginess and a neutral lip supports her carefree sensibility".

Look #2
 To get the look:
Eye studio master drama eyeliner in midnight was used on the lids.
Then smudged with clear gloss to get the rock star effect!

Loved the looks!
Stay tuned for my next post.

Burt's Bees® launches a Natural Skin Solutions for Sensitive Skin
Life is so much harder when you have sensitive skin.
Okay.. I'm being over dramatic but sensitive skin does suck. Since I'm a buzz Agent I received a Burt's Bees Cleanser and Daily Moisturizing Cream to try out. So far its been pretty good.
It's very gentle and okay for daily use.
Click here to find out stores that sell this product

These gentle formulas are clinically proven to cleanse and moisturize sensitive skin without causing redness or irritation. Softening Cotton Extract helps skin replenish its outer later, shielding it from potential irritants such as harsh soaps or cleansers, so your sensitive skin will look and feel beautiful, naturally.

Can be found at major drug & food stores
Great ready for Spring with eos!

I remember when I got my first sphere in Lemon. I used it daily until there was NOTHING left. I loved it but didn't know what flavor to get next. Now I can pick according to my mood:

Sweet & Sassy — Summer Fruit
Cool & Calm — Honeysuckle Honeydew
Sleek & Classic — Sweet Mint

Avon launches the Clinical Resurfacing Expert Smoothing Fluid

Avon & I go way back. Back to me being thirteen years old selling AVON to my teachers. Now that I think about it I laugh. I had my business woman hat on from an early age. Last month, they launched the Clinical Resurfacing Expert Smoothing Fluid.

Formulated with professional-grade ingredients, Anew Clinical Resurfacing Expert Smoothing Fluid
retexturizes skin overnight, exfoliating, retexturing and replenishing skin to leave it looking younger,
smoother and revitalized. In a clinical study vs. three professional microdermabrasion treatments over
12 weeks, Anew Clinical Resurfacing Expert Smoothing Fluid was 79% as effective as a professional
microdermabrasion without the same irritation.

AXE launches a NEW female fragrance

I like scent of AXE. It doesn't make me create havoc like the females in the commercial but I appreciate a great smelling man. I wonder if men will think the same now that AXE has launched their first scent for ladies.

Anarchy For Her is a feminine mix of sparkling fruity notes [apple, blackberry] with soft florals at the heart and a light finish of sandalwood, amber and vanilla. Delicate and fun, Anarchy For Her is designed to be used throughout the day.

China Glaze Magnetix Collection

Wednesday, March 14, 2012

I recently got the opportunity to try out two polishes from China Glaze Magnetix collection on the Nailpolishcanada.com website.

These polishes are made with magnetic particles that form designs when a magnetic is placed over it.

China Glaze Magnetix comes in six different shades with one all-in-one magnet.

The magnet has three patterns: Star, Chevron & Diagonal Lines. Out of the three patterns the star was my favorite!
For best results first apply a base coat to clean, bare nails. Then apply a coat of colored polish and immediately hold the design magnet over the polish for 10-15 seconds.
The experience:
I found this kinda difficult at first. I was adding to much polish and the design wouldn't "come" through. After a while when I only added one coat, I was more successful. These pictures below are from my first attempts:
As weird as this seems... I love the fact that the polish tried quietly. Also the colors are rich & vibrant.

The con in terms of the magnet is that you have to work fast. As soon as you apply the one coat, apply the magnet ASAP. I had to learn how to master getting the magnet close enough not to ruin the polish.

Overall, I find the idea of magnetic polish pretty cool. I probably would only put them on my accent nails. Perfect way to change up a look with very little efort.

What do you think of magnetic nail polishes?
Have you tried any before?
