Marcelle Lux Gloss Sheer - Nectar Review

Marcelle is the cosmetics and skin care brand that offers every woman high quality, effective and affordable products. Hypoallergenic and perfume-free; women of all ages believe in Marcelle products.

I was sent Marcelle Lux Gloss Sheer - Nectar to review for you girlies! First off I've never tried any Marcelle products, so this gloss was a great introduction.

Marcelle Lux Gloss Sheer is an absolute gem that will illuminate your pout with a touch of glittering glamour.
  • Easy to wear, Lux Gloss Sheer gives your lips that delicious wet look shine while also revitalizing them. Each shade provides the sheerest of coverage and the most brilliant shimmering iridescence.
  • Exceptionally comfortable, Lux Gloss is infused with a unique Vita-Lip complex, a combination of lipopeptid-based amino acids proven to stimulate collagen production and provide optimum hydration. Your lips are fuller, smoother and plump.
Marcelle Lux gloss comes in 7 different colors and are suitable for all skin tones!

This gloss is very smooth not cakey or clumpy, even though it has shimmer! I hate products which make your lips feel like your rubbing pieces of sand paper together!! LOL
Swatch of nectar with one swipe
It's really easy to build up color because it's sheer! I also have to add that it photographs beautifully :)

Tip from Marcelle:

For natural-looking lips, use Lux Gloss Sheer over nude lips. If you’re looking for a splash of glamour, simply apply a coat of Lux Gloss over your lipstick.

Eshakti.com clothing review + $250.00 and 25 other prizes giveaway!!!!!

I was contacted by Eshakti.com to do a clothing review. I've never heard of the company so I made sure I did my research before I accepted their offer.

Quick Eshakti.com facts:

  • It's an online clothing store that makes "custom clothes to your size, your style. YES, YOU GET TO TWEAK THE STYLE - the length, the neckline, the sleeve -to your taste."
  • Sizing 0 to 26W
  • They ship in 3 business days. Yes, even custom clothes ship in 3 days. And the transit time from us to the customer is typically 4 days. So in 7 business days or less.
Once I read that I was sold! Finding clothes that fit perfectly is a struggle! I constantly have to go up a size to fit my bust but then its way to loose on my small waist. I know many of you have a similar story, whether it's a bust, hip or booty problem.

After looking at the website I decided to get a super cute ruffle dress.

 The Fit:
I ordered the dress when I was 8 pounds heavier (go me..lol), so the elastic band is a livesaver. I can also add a belt to the dress to dress it up :) I plan on pairing it with some bronze heels & leather jacket.
Quality:
This is not cheap filmsy cotton! It's quite sturdy.

Prices:
The prices are reasonable if you take in account the tailing to make each item specific.

Overall:
This dress is super cute & I am satsified!

Currently Eshakti has an amazing contest which everyone is a winner!
How do you see the eShakti woman?  Is she under 30 or over?  What does she do for a living?  What would you say about her lifestyle?  Children?  Employment?  Career?  You decide as no answer is wrong and just for giving it a shot, you will receive a $10 gift certificate!

Winners Bargin Haul- Urban Decay for 70 cents!?!?

I love Winners! Since I have alot of USA followers, so I'll give you a little background on winners! Its a mix of Marshalls and TJ Maxx :)

I think its the whole searching to find a good deal is exhilarating! LOL.
The first Item I saw was this nail polish set! I loved the colors but I couldn't possibly spent $7.00 on it since one was missing.

So I got it for $4.99 for the whole pack! After searching the brand "Goldie" online, I found out that they sell at Bath and Bodyworks for $9.00 each. That's a very good deal. Look at the colors close up.

The best thing I got was Urban Decay for 70 cents!!! Did you hear me under a dollar :) That is amazing since it's $14.00 on their website.

I also got OPI RapiDry Spray for $3.00. I found it online for about $20.00. This product has amazing claims:
Make your nails dry in rapid time with this OPI RapiDry Spray. Ensure that your nails are dry and won’t smear before you start using your hands again with this clever nail drying spray that dries your nails to perfection in minutes.
I got a pop beauty eye cake palette (Violet Eyes) for $2.00. I've never used the brand before but the colors are nice.

Cover FX Blogger event (PIC HEAVY)

I had the chance to attend the first ever Cover fx blogger event!
I don't think I have ever told this story but the first brand I ever used in school was COVER FX!

First some background on CoverFX:
Since 1985, Lee Graff, a corrective makeup specialist at the CosMedic Clinic at a leading Canadian hospital, has worked with thousands of patients with various skin conditions. Together with Chemical Engineer Jenny Frankel, and leading Dermatologist Dr. Neil Shear, Lee began development of Cover FX.

The whole event was VERY educational and hands on! I was surprised that Lee Graff & Jenny Frankel attended. They told us their personal stories about the brand and how much it means to them. Also they answered EVERY single question we asked!

Melissa explaining the set up

As a MUA I know that a flawless canvas is the best to work with. Since everyone skin has different needs Cover FX has 6 formula options!
  • Cover FX
  • Natural FX
  • Powder FX
  • Mineral FX
  • Skin Tint FX
  • Concealer FX
The formula's I love are Cover FX because a little goes a LONG way & Skin Tint FX because it's light and water resistant :)

Another lovely blogger Joy!

Did you know Cover FX can also cover Tattoos!!
She had wings on both wrists..amazing

At the end of the event each girl walked out with "The Big Cover Starter Kit" + BritePrep FX, Mint Glaze lip primer &ClearPrep FX.
The kit includes:
  • Cover FX trio
  • Skinprep FX
  • How to DVD
  • Setting FX
  • Foundation Brush #170

The colors I used: B0, B25 & B45
That #160 is my new love..lol

I'm sooo happy I had the opportunity to attend this event. As a woman of color I know it's super hard to find a foundation to suit my skin tone. I'd recommend CoverFX because it ranges from lighter to deep dark. No one is left out :)

Annabelle Smudgeliner in Ohmygoth! FOTD

Hey Girlies!

If you haven't check out my Annabelle Smudgeliner review click here.

How amazing is this black!! I still can't get over it! I think it really brings out my brown eyes :)

I'm wearing it on my top & bottom lid.

 Other items I'm wearing are:
-Black mascara
-clear gloss

P.s I was having a good skin day :) LOL

Annabelle Smudgeliner Review

Annabelle Cosmetics is a Canadian makeup brand driven by its passion for colour and texture.

With their superior long-lasting formula and rich colour pay-off, Annabelle Smudgeliners are a must-have to add depth to any look! Let them glide to create a defined line, or blend gently with the built-in smudger tip to achieve a smoky, sultry look.

Even though Annabelle is a drugstore line, I think that it is VERY comparable to MAC.

The Smudgeliners come in 12 different colors. I got the opportunity to try three colors(Check out the swatches):
  • Sea Green
  • Electric Sapphire
  • Ohmygoth!

I am honestly in love. I know these are called smudgeliners but they don't smudge unless you smudge them. The tips are creamy and don't tug or pull your eye when applying.

Since I wake up at 6:30 AM.. these liners are the easiest to apply. You can control the size of the tip. I either sharpen mine to a pointy tip for a thin line or use it regularly for a thicker line.

I do not recommend sharpening the pencils in a regular sharper. Get the Annabelle single sharper to sharpen the pencils because they sharpen smoothly :)

PLUS the cleaning stick helps ALOT!

On the other end of the pencil is a rubber smudger. I've had a bad experience with a previous smudger almost blinding me..haha. But this one was soft and makes a great smokey eye!

My favorite liner of them all is Ohmygoth! It's the best black to make brown eyes pop! I'll take a FOTD this week :)

Overall I would buy these for myself and my MUA kit!

Skin MD Natural™ review + Giveaway

The wonderful people at Skin MD provided me with a bottle of  Skin MD Natural™ to review + giveaway.

Skin MD Natural™ shielding lotion that helps the skin restore its integrity and enhance its protective functions so that the skin is able to heal naturally and regain its youthful appearance. Skin MD Natural works by bonding with cells of the skin's outermost layer to form an invisible shield. This layer of protection prevents environmental irritants and pollutants from penetrating the skin, while locking in the skin's own natural oils and moisture, helping heal dry skin, leaving skin feeling silky and smooth. It is dermatologist recommended and hypo-allergenic. It is also fragrance, colorant and paraben free, so it is safe to use for the whole family.

Most of my  Skin MD Natural™ experiment was done on my Boyfriend. I didn't take a picture of his hands because that would be RUDE! LOL

Monday to Friday he works with trouble youth and kids, Weekends he's an A/V tech. In other words he washes his hands A LOT! So his hands aren't as soft as I would want them to be. We've been looking around for a perfect lotion that wouldn't evaporate easily & keep his hands moisturized.

I found out that  Skin MD Natural™ worked quite well for him. Since it's not a big bottle it's not embarrassing for him to carry it around with him. Also it doesn't leave a greasy residue behind when he's setting up the A/V equipment.

Mini Tip: I make sure he puts it on before he goes to bed, so he wakes up with soft hands :)

Giveaway Alert!

Win a bottle of  Skin MD Natural™!
Perfect gift for yourself or your bf/gf!

My everyday face .. What is yours?

This is my everyday face :) Fresh easy and simple! Plus I have no time to do anything fancy..lol

  • ELF brow kit in Dark
  • Jessies Girl Tattoo eyeliner in Black
  • MAC Plushlash Mascara
  • Any MAC, Cargo or Revlon

I don't wear any foundation on weekdays because it takes way to long to apply!  BUT if I had to choose it would be MAC select TINT in NW45.

My question for you is:
  • what does your everyday face consist of?
  •
  • Do you wear foundation & concealer everyday?

One on One with Jenn featuring apetitediva!

This Petite diva talks about everything from having confidence to how to get amazing skin!

Click here to go to her blog!

When did you become a make up junkie?
apetitediva: Watching my mom put on her red lipstick everyday.

That's too cute! Are you also a red lipstick wearer?

apetitediva:  Yes, I am red lipstick wearer!

What brands are currently your "staple?"
apetitediva:  On a daily, MAC, NYX, shu uemura, eco tools, mary kay, loreal, mark

I love the fact that you don't only use high end products! What is your favorite l'oreal product?
apetitediva:  Lineur Intense felt tip liquid eyeliner

Ahh! So that's how you get your liner so perfect! I have for the girl's out there..What foundation do you use and do you have any tips?
apetitediva:  Tips: for a perfect airbrushed foundation finish, use a stippler brush and make sure you set it with a powder. I recommend finding a microdermabrasion system that works for you and use it 2-4 per month. I use Mary Kay's Microdermabrasion set. Also, moisturize twice daily (even if you have oily skin). My hg foundation is MAC's Studio Fix Fluid in NW30, but recently I've been loving Revlon's PhotoReady in 006, I still don't have a final verdict on it, all I can say for now is your skin cannot have any dry skin patches, it will show, but I can say the same with MAC, so exfoliate please.

These girls better be taking notes! I've never tried microdermabrasion, why is it important to you?
apetitediva:  We all want an even complexion, besides drinking water and avoiding sugar, microdermabrasion is the next best way to clear it up. Microdermabrasion will help unclog pores and remove the surfaces accumulated dead skin cells. It'll also promote your surface skin cells to renew and increase collagen production. It's safer than chemical peels and a lot of people can't handle that.

Great information! Now I know why you have amazing skin! Do you have any advice for newbies in the beauty community?
apetitediva:  First off, makeup isn't necessary to be beautiful. Trust me I walk around w/out makeup some days and I'm still confident in my beauty. I'll be honest, reading blogs, watching youtube videos and qvc/hsn are great resources. I love shopping at Nordstrom & Sephora b/c of their lax return policy, so if a new product doesn't work for me, I can go back, explain my issue and a sales associate will help me pick up what's right. Don't ever be afraid to ask for help from a sales associate.

Fashion Rambles: Talking hats & Marilyn Monroe tees

Ye just some fashion ramblings...my face is pretty naked but still fab..lol! Just MAC Plushlash & Sapplious...But we're not here to talk about makeup..

I love hats! I wear one like 4 out of 7 days a week. It look super cute with curls or straightened hair! I get all my hats from H&M. This one was from H&M's Hennes department and it $3.50 on sale!!

I have:
- white- 2 blacks
- grey
- brown

I always keep my hats half way off my hair, perfect to show off curls like in the pic :)

But I need to get red to match my Olympics gloves!!

Isn't shirt fab!?! I got it from Burlington Coat factory for $4.99!!

I like graphic tees because you can dress them up and down easily:)

Do you like hats or graphic tees & how do you wear them?

Do you help a friend who's committing a fashion CRIME??

This is a MESS! I don't get it.. I don't even know where it's going! LOL.

But she does remind me of a good friend I have.. She has NO sense of style...

I never call her out on it.. NEVER.. so my question for you is:

"If you see your friend making a fashion crime or TWO, do you call them out?"
